Sono un uomo che ha fatto dell'arte il perno centrale della propria vita. Nasco a Osijek in Croazia nel 1976. Ho fondato la mia espressività su solide basi tecniche e culturali frequentando l'Accademia delle Belle Arti di Zagabria dove mi sono laureato presso il dipartimento di scultura. Successivamente ho ottenuto il master in arte presso l'Accademia delle Belle Arti e Design di Lubiana. Durante i miei studi ho avuto la possibilità di interfacciarmi con il panorama artistico internazionale grazie ad un semestre specialistico presso l'Indiana University della Pennsylvania, sotto la guida del professor James Nestor. Attualmente vivo e lavoro a Zagabria.
l'arte del gioiello diventa amore e lavoro quando?
Io nasco come scultore, attività che non ho mai abbandonato. L'idea che mi ha portato alla creazione di una linea di gioielli è quella di poter trasferire il mio modo di esprimere e concepire l'arte a tutti indistintamente. A questo si aggiunge la mia passione per i metalli: i materiali mi parlano, io li ascolto e li trasformo creando nuove forme che esaltano la mia creatività. Quale modo migliore se non attraverso il gioiello?
ammirando le tue creazioni non si può che dire che sono opere d'arte più che gioielli,condividi?
Certamente il fatto che ciascun pezzo sia realizzato interamente a mano da me lo fa rientrare in effetti nella definizione di opera d'arte. Però proprio la mia scelta di far sì che ciascuno possa portare con sé e sentire proprio un pezzo della mia arte, mi ha portato alla creazione della linea "midzo jewellery" . Ovviamente non avrei potuto raggiungere lo stesso obiettivo con la sola scultura, che comunque continua a far parte del mio essere.
Rientri fra i 29 finalisti di " Bijoux d'Autore 2010" che si terrà a Roma il 19/20/21 novembre 2010,ce lo racconti?
Non posso raccontarti più di tanto. L'evento è ancora in corso. Posso dirti che la mia scelta di partecipare a questo concorso deriva dall'opportunità di potermi mettere a confronto con altri artisti e ottenere visibilità sul territorio italiano su cui sto muovendo i primi passi. Sono ovviamente molto felice di essere stato selezionato fra i finalisti della manifestazione, anche se non te lo nego l'obiettivo sarebbe quello di poter vincere....
dove possiamo acquistare le tue creazioni?
Per quanto riguarda il mercato italiano ho affidato da pochi mesi la distribuzione della mia linea "midzo Jewellery" a Qalime di Castelfranco Veneto. Ne lascio a loro la promozione e la creazione della relativa rete di vendita.
I am a man who has made the art, the center of their lives. I was born in Osijek in Croatia in 1976. I started my expression on solid technical and cultural attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, where I graduated at the department of sculpture. I later obtained a masters degree in art at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. During my studies I had the opportunity to interface with the international art scene thanks to a specialized semester at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, under the guidance of Professor James Nestor. Currently living and working in Zagreb.
the art of jewelry and love becomes work when?
I started life as a sculptor, an activity that I never left. The idea that led me to create a line of jewelry is to be able to transfer my way of expressing and understanding art in all and sundry. Add to that my passion for metals: the materials speak to me, I listen to them and transform them by creating new forms that enhance my creativity. What better way than through the jewel?
admiring your creations one can only say that they are works of art than jewelry, share?
Certainly the fact that each piece is completely handmade by me does in fact fall within the definition of a work of art. But my own choice to ensure that everyone can carry and feel just a piece of my art, I was led to the creation of the line "Midzi jewelery". Of course I could not achieve the same goal with only the sculpture, which still remains part of my being.
Falls among the 29 finalists for "Bijoux d'Autore 2010" to be held in Rome in November 2010 19/20/21, you tell us?
I can not tell you much. The event is still ongoing. I can tell you that my choice to participate in this competition comes from the opportunity to be able to compare with other artists and gain visibility on the Italian territory on which I am taking the first steps. I'm obviously very happy to have been selected among the finalists of the event, even if you do not deny that the aim would be to win ....
where we can buy your creations?
As for the Italian market a few months ago I entrusted the distribution of my line "Midzi Jewellery" in Qalime Castelfranco Veneto. I leave them in the promotion and creation of its sales network.
