Per me il nome di Jason Denzel resterà per sempre legato a quello di Robert Jordan. Jason è il fondatore di http://www.dragonmount.com/index.php, sito che per anni ha ospitato il blog di Jordan. Dopo la morte di Robert - di James Oliver Rigney, Jr. - Jason è stato invitato dalla vedova Harriet Popham Rigney ai funerali del marito. Il resoconto di quel viaggio mi ha commossa e mi ha spinta a desiderare di conoscere meglio James, l'uomo, e non Jordan, lo scrittore. C'è da stupirsi se quando ho scoperto che Tor Books - l'editore sia di Jordan che di Sanderson, e non è un caso - avrebbe pubblicato una trilogia fantasy scritta da Jason io ne sia stata subito incuriosita? Una fanciulla del popolo scelta per imparare a usare la magia, cosa normalmente riservata ai nobili? Fin qui nulla di nuovo, chissà quante storie partono da un'idea simile. La mia curiosità però è rimasta, anche ora che ho letto i primi tre capitoli. Non dico subito, ma ci sono ottime probabilità che io compri almeno il primo romanzo. Mi piace pure la copertina.
