Martellare il metallo, che sia un filo o una lastra, è una di quelle cose terapeutiche e divertenti che mi piace fare! Oltretutto, il risultato è sempre imprevedibile!
Hammering metal is one of those things I like to do to relax and to get rid of concerns, it's somehow therapeutic!
Si martellano gli oggetti per dar loro una finitura particolare, un aspetto unico e perchè non anche insolito....ma non neghiamo che uno dei motivi principali per cui si martella il filo metallico è per incrudirlo, renderlo quindi più duro (ma anche più fragile, quindi attenzione) e fissare la forma che gli abbiamo dato.


You hammer pieces of jewelry to give them a particular texture, but also to fix the form, in fact while you hammering the metal you harden it (but be careful, this make also the metal more fragile).
Come forse sapete e come potete vedere in questo mio post ci sono una infinità di martelli, veramente tanti!Ognuno in grado di dare una texture finale diversa! E poi ovviamente esistono martelli molto particolari con la testa tutto tranne che liscia....mi incuriosisce l'effetto che possono dare al metallo!
As you probably already know (or as you can read in my post) there are a lot of hammers you can buy, each one can give to the metal a different texture. There are also very particular hammers like these ones below with elaborated heads, to give a much more particular effect! I'm very curious about them!

Anche in questo caso martellare è questione di pratica, di sperimentare la forza giusta da usare, il martello giusto da usare, come impugnarlo.....qualche suggerimento per partire potete trovarlo in questi video!
I think that also hammering is a matter of training and practice....you have to learn how much strenght to use, how to hand the hammer, the right hammer to use.....you can see some suggestions in these videos!
