Journey to Dubai: The Dubai Mall – Part1

OK, it’s time to write about my journey to Dubai. This is a journey that I had craved for a very long time. When I finally decided to go, some weeks ago, I had a wonderful travel experience! So I think it is a very good idea to talk about it, because I would like to give you some good advices and because I love these storytelling travel blogger posts!
I think I’ll focus on the aspects of fashion and shopping.

I’ll start by talking about the Dubai Mall: it the biggest luxury mall of the world. You can get there by the metro, at the stop Burj Khalifa an you get there through a walk bridge with tapis roulant, wide windows, beautiful plants and air conditioning.
Entering the Dubai Mall all you have to do is connecting to the free wi-fi and downloading the free app that will guide and help you in your shopping experience through all the levels and areas as a store locator.

In this mall you can find the most common brands and the most exclusive ones: in fact, the lounge at the ground floor is dedicated to all the international luxury brands. And it is very nice having some rest in the free relax areas.
At the ground floor you will also find “The Souk”, an area completely dedicated to jewels. And to a dinosaur! In fact, on display there is the original skeleton of one such long-necked, whip-tailed sauropod that is over 155 million years old, and it’s called Dino. I like the atmosphere and the colors of this area!

It is possible to go ice skating at the Dubai Ice Rink. Or visit the Dubai Aquarium, with one of the largest tanks in the world and the walkthrough tunnel that makes for incredible close-encounter experiences with some of the most fascinating underwater animals on the planet, not to mention the Underwater Zoo.
Sorry, you can’t go sking here… there’s another mall for this!

È davvero giunto il momento di raccontare qualcosa in più del mio viaggio a Dubai.
Si trattava di un viaggio che desideravo fare da molto tempo, e che sognavo da molto tempo. Finalmente mi sono decisa, ed è stata un’esperienza straordinaria!
Credo che sia giusto se non un reportage fare un minimo di resoconto anche qui sul blog. mi focalizzerò sugli aspetti più legati al mio lavoro, per cui rimarremo sul tema delle moda e dello shopping.

Oggi parleremo del Dubai Mall, che attualmente è il più grande Mall del lusso del mondo. Vi si arriva attraverso un lungo ponte con tapis roulant che collega il mall alla fermata della metro, attraverso un percorso con ampie e luminose finestre, bellissime piante – e persone molto eleganti.
Non appena entri, la prima cosa da fare è connettersi al wi-fi gratuito e scaricarsi la app, che ti guiderà attraverso i più piani dell’edificio.

I negozi sono incredibili, perché si trova veramente di tutto, dai nomi più diffusi al prodotto di lusso. La lounge del pian terreno è dedicata appunto ai grandi nomi del lusso internazionale. In tutte le zone si trovane aree relax gratuite. Io da lì editavo e pubblicavo le foto che avete visto!

Al pian terreno troverete anche una zona chiamata  “The Souk”, tutta a tema gioiello. È dedicata anche a un ospite speciale: un  vero dinosauro, che si chiama Dino. Adoro quest’area per via dell’atmosfera elegante ma anche stravagante che vi si respira, e per i colori!

Lo shopping è un’esperienza meravigliosa qui. Impossibile stancarsi, impossibile annoiarsi, ma se proprio vi annoiate potete fare diverse cose, fra cui pattinare sul ghiaccio sul Dubai Ice Rink, o visitare l’acquario più grande del mondo, il Dubai Aquarium, con un corridoio dove è possibile fare incontri molto ravvicinati con esseri meravigliosi. Io non smettevo di  scattare foto. Non dimentichiamo che c’è anche l’Underwater Zoo.
Mi spiace, ma una cosa che non potete fare qui è sciare. Per quello dovrete andare in un altro Mall!
