Kawasaki Mostrenga by Trinta & UM

David from Trinta & Um in Portugal introduces his brand new personal bike:a 1997 Kawasaki ZR 550. David della Trinta & Um di Porto, presenta all'Inazuma Cafe la sua nuova moto personale: una Kawasaki ZR550 del 1997.

"Two years ago - David says - I had a stock Yamaha SR250 Special and, as I was going through online ads, I discovered this Kawasaki on sale in the neighborhood. The same night I saw and reserved the bike. Next day: so long Yamaha, hello Kawasaki!" David has been thinking a lot for the possible solutions to customize the bike. But the projects he found on-line were all based on the stock frame and he wasn't satisfied about it. "...It took a lot of work to cut and reweld, but in the end it was worth it". He not only wanted to lower the frame but to give the bike Brat-Tracker look: he chose dual purpose tires: a Metzeler Karoo3 for the rear wheel and a Tourance for the the front one. The new color of the gas tank is a vintage Porsche burgundy red but, as a graffiti writer, David wanted his footprint on the bike: "I contacted a friend of mine, Tiago (a truly skilled guy!!) to pinstripe the gas tank and the side covers and he did it! The 'brand-new-straight-from-the-dealers' look was never intended, I prefer the patina on the exhaust, swingarm and front forks". The name "Mostrenga" means big and clumsy woman in Portuguese.
"Due anni fa - dice David - avevo una Yamaha SR250 Special di serie e, mentre cercavo tra gli annunci online, ho scoperto questa Kawasaki in vendita nelle vicinanze.  La stessa sera ho visto la moto e l'ho prenotata. Il giorno dopo: ciao ciao Yamaha: benvenuta Kawasaki!" David ha pensato a lungo le possibili soluzioni per personalizzare la moto. Ma i progetti che ha trovato on-line erano tutti basati sul telaio stock e non lo soddisfacevano. "... C'è voluto un sacco di lavoro per tagliare e risaldare, ma alla fine ne è valsa la pena". David non solo voleva un assetto ribassato, ma dare alla moto un aspetto Brat Tracker e dunque ha scelto pneumatici dual purpose: Metzeler Karoo 3 posteriore e Tourance anteriore. Il nuovo colore del serbatoio è un rosso bordeaux Porsche vintage. Ma, come graffiti writer, David ha voluto la sua impronta sulla moto: "Ho contattato un mio amico, Tiago (ragazzo davvero in gamba) per decorare il serbatoio e i fianchetti, e lo ha fatto alla grande! L'aspetto 'Nuovo di zecca come dal concessionario' non era gradito, preferisco la patina sullo scarico, forcella e forcellone". Il nome "Mostrenga" in portoghese indica una donna grande e grossa.
