ENGLISH VERSION
Keira Knightley, currently the face of the Coco Mademoiselle fragrance campaign, will star as Coco Chanel in a new film directed by Karl Lagerfeld celebrating the 100th anniversary of Chanel’s first boutique in Deauville. The short will be screened at the label’s upcoming cruise 2014 collection which will be shown on May 9 in Singapore, a city known for a burgeoning fashion and retail scene where Chanel has three stores. The designer, who often picks exotic locations to present his between-season collections, will recreate Deauville’s original small seaside town charm through detailed retro sets, based in Paris. French actress Clotilde Hesme has been hired to play the role of Chanel’s aunt, Adrienne. The cast of the film, which will be shot later this week, includes model Stella Tennant, muse Tallulah Harlech, Caroline de Maigret, Brad Kroenig, and, most importantly, Lagerfeld’s youngest catwalk star, Kroenig’s four-year-old son Hudson as a young nephew.
Not to be outdone, Raf Simons will show his first cruise collection for Dior on May 19 in Monaco.
