La Giornata della Terra: mai stare zitti!

Oggi è la Giornata della Terra, e come blogger non posso fare a meno di pensarci e di scrivere qualcosa. Ho iniziato la giornata ripensando a un vecchio blog che avevo tempo fa, blog in cui parlavo di moda e di lifestyle senza particolare impegno, era un blog personale. Non ho mai nascosto il lavoro che facevo. Ma quando scrissi un articolo dedicato alla Giornata della Terra suscitai una serie di reazioni inspiegabili, per cui restai allibita: il comune sentire dei commenti era il seguente: una persona come te, che fa un lavoro così superficiale, dovrebbe stare zitta in un giorno importante come questo. E pensare che il mio articolo era sulla moda etica, sul lavoro con le fibre naturali, sul ritorno alla tradizione.

Credo che parlare di ecologia sul web dovrebbe veder coinvolti tutti, ognuno a suo modo. Non ho mai indagato sulle professioni di chi mi giudicava “superficiale”, ma sarebbe forse stato interessante. Ma quello che più mi preme affermare è che in ogni ambito sta nascendo una sensibilità nuova per l’ambiente, e la moda ha recepito tutto questo molto tempo fa, i piccoli brand indipendenti con un po’ d’anticipo sul mainstream. Ma oggi le iniziative stanno nascendo su ogni fronte: si parla sempre di moda etica, di moda ecosostenibile, e le maggiori organizzazioni dedicano a questi concetti molto spazio, e parlo solo del Pitti perchè è il primo nome che mi viene in mente.

Se oggi decidessi di descrivere una di queste iniziative avrei l’imbarazzo della scelta. Vi dico solo che in Italia ma non solo si stanno riscoprendo i vecchi telai, la reconstruction e la tradizione artigianale a tutto campo. Anni fa leggevo di alcune iniziative, oggi sono tante e danno origine a startup. E credo proprio che non sia più possibile “stare zitti” a riguardo! In realtà penso che la moda sia molto avanti su questo tema sociale, come in molti altri.
E su questo tema contano la voce e il contributo di tutti!

Today is the Earth Day, and as a blogger I can not help but thinking about it, and writing something. I started the day thinking back to an old blog that I used to have a long time ago, where I used to write about  fashion and lifestyle without any special effort, after all it was a personal blog. I have never hidden my job, though. But when I wrote an article dedicated to the Earth Day, I received a series of strange reactions, so that I stood aghast: the common sentiment of the comments was the following: a person like you, who has such a shallow a job, should just be quiet in an important day like this. And just think that my article was about the ethical fashion, the work with natural fibers, the return to tradition. I think that talking about ecology on the web should see all involved, each of us in his/her own way. I’ve never investigated about the professions of those who judged me “a superficial person”, but it might have been interesting. Anyway, what I most aim to say is that in every ambient we see a new attention emerging about to the environment, and fashion has incorporated all of this a long time ago, the small and independent brands a little ahead of the mainstream. But today the initiatives are springing up on every front: we always talk about ethical fashion, sustainable fashion, and most events and organizations are dedicating much space  to these concepts, and I speak only about the Pitti Immagine as it is the first name that comes to mind. If you decide today to describe one of these initiatives, it would be difficult to make just a choice, as there are so many! I only say that in Italy but not only we are rediscovering the old chassis, the reconstruction and the tradition of craftsmanship in all areas. Years ago I read about some initiatives, today there are many and they even become some startups. And I think that it is no longer possible to “keep quiet ” about it! In fact I think that fashion is far ahead on this social issue, as in many others.
And don’t forget that averyone’s voice and action are important when dealing with ecology!
