Le vacanze in campeggio sono low cost?

Fare vacanze in campeggio è low cost? Un tempo, forse. Attualmente rappresenta solo uno stile di viaggiare: in libertà e a contatto con la natura. Saprete che, se non mi muovo in aereo, viaggio con il mio fuoristrada. È attrezzato con tutto il necessario per darmi la giusta autonomia: serbatoio da 80 litri d’acqua, tenda sul tetto, wc chimico, frigorifero, cucina. Manca solamente un pannello solare, che non tarderà a completare l’equipaggiamento.

All’estero ho spesso l’opportunità e il piacere di fare campeggio libero, mi permette di vedere luoghi incantevoli ed entrare davvero in contatto con le persone del luogo. In Italia, invece, non è possibile o almeno la legislazione in merito risulta piuttosto oscura, perciò è sempre necessario utilizzare i campeggi.

Durante le ultime vacanze ho fatto un giro lungo circa 5000 chilometri (nemmeno molti per la mia media) e vorrei raccontare cosa ho verificato sulla situazione e sui costi in Italia e in Grecia.

ITALIA

Ho soggiornato in tre regioni: Umbria, Puglia (Salento) e Alto Adige.

La prima tappa è stata sul lago Trasimeno, in un campeggio 4*. In riva al lago, grandi spazi ombreggiati, piscina, servizi molto curati, pace e silenzio perché frequentato soprattutto da tedeschi e austriaci. 27 €

Sulle strutture salentine devo esprimere alcune perplessità. Innanzitutto trovare un campeggio è una caccia al tesoro. Probabilmente chi si reca in quella zona è abituato ad affittare una casa, ma credo che i camperisti, soprattutto stranieri, non siano rari. Qui le strutture classificate come “sulla spiaggia” sia trovano a circa 700 metri dal mare e io, arrivando sempre nel pomeriggio avanzato, alla fine il mare non l’ho mai visto. Di ombra ce n’è, ma spesso la pulizia dei servizi lascia a desiderare e l’acqua calda per la doccia è a pagamento. Il tutto per un costo che va da un minimo di 33 € ad un massimo di 47 €.

A Merano, invece, il campeggio è situato in una posizione ideale. In pieno centro a pochi passi dalle terme. Spazi comodi, servizi riscaldati e pulitissimi, piscina con acqua calda e noleggio gratuito di biciclette. 22 €

GRECIA

Sul Peloponneso di campeggi ce n’è pochi, l’abitudine è infatti quella di affittare studios o camere in case private. Quelli esistenti sono semplici, ma curati. A Cefalonia ce ne sono due: puliti, sulla spiaggia e con wifi gratuito. 18 €. I campeggi sperimentati in altre zone (a Parga e Killini) erano bene organizzati, piacevoli ed economici.

I prezzi si intendono per piazzola (in genere spazio camper + due persone) e lascio a voi le considerazioni finali.

Are the camping holidays low cost?

Is it really low cost having camping holidays? At one time, maybe. Currently represents only a style of travel: in freedom and in contact with nature. You will know that if I don’t move by plane, I travel with my fourwheels car. It is equipped with everything necessary to give me the proper autonomy: 80 liters of water, tent on the roof of the car, chemical toilet, refrigerator, stove. I haven’t only a solar panel, which will soon complete the equipment.

Abroad, I often have the opportunity and the pleasure to do free camping, it allows me to see beautiful places and to get in touch with the locals. In Italy, however, it is not possible or at least the legislation is rather dark, so you should always use campsites.
During the last holiday I took a ride along approximately 5000 km (not a lot for my average) and I would like to tell you what I checked on the situation and the costs in Italy and Greece.

ITALY

I stayed in three regions: Umbria, Apulia (Salento) and South Tyrol.
The first stop was on Trasimeno lake, in a 4 * camping. Beside the lake, large shaded areas, swimming pool, mainteined toilets, peace and silence because frequented mostly by Germans and Austrians. € 27

Aboput Apulia structures I have to express some concerns. First, find a campsite is a treasure hunt. Probably people that go into that area is used to rent a house, but I think the campers, especially foreigners, are not rare. Here the structures classified as “on the beach” are located about 700 meters from the sea and I, always coming in late afternoon, at the end I have ever seen the sea. Shaded areas but often the cleanliness of the toilets was no perfect and the hot water for the shower was to pay. The cost ranges from a minimum of 33 to a maximum of 47 €.

In Merano, however, the camp is situated in an ideal location. In the city center, a few steps from the spa. Comfortable spaces, heated and very clean toilets, warm water pool and free bike rental. € 22

GREECE

There are few campings in Peloponnese, the habit of tourists is to rent studios and rooms in private homes. Existing ones are simple, but cured. In Kefalonia there are two campsites: clean, on the beach, with free wifi. € 18. Camping I’ve seen in other areas (in Parga and Killini) were well organized, nice and cheap.
