Sta per arrivare il ponte dell'immacolata, che per i milanesi è più lungo che mai (siccome S.Ambrogio è il santo patrono ed è il 7 dicembre). Un classico è quindi sfruttare questi giorni per la prima sciata.
Era un po' che desideravo parlarvi di Champoluc, il paesino in montagna, in Valle d'Aosta dove ho casa e che frequento da quando sono nata. Se come me amate lo sci, credo che il monterosaski sia il comprensorio migliore nella regione: si sta sempre più espandendo e ormai arriva fino ad Alagna, in Valsesia, passando per Gressoney e i Salati. Riuscire in una giornata a girarlo tutto è una delle soddisfazioni dell'inverno :).
Purtroppo il prezzo del giornaliero è sempre alto e si sfrutta davvero solo quando, appunto, si riesce a fare tutto il giro. Esistono comunque molte combinazioni per chi preferisse una giornata più soft (le trovate su monterosa-ski.com).
It's going to get the feast of the Immaculate conception, which for the Milanese is even longer than ever (St. Ambrose is the patron saint and it is on December 7). It's typical to exploit these days for the first ski run.
So, I want to tell you about Champoluc, the village in the mountains, in Val d'Aosta, where I have a house until I was born. If you love skiing as much as I do, I think that monterosaski is the best ski-district in the region: it is increasingly expanding and now is up to Alagna, Valsesia, and through Gressoney and Salati. Being able to turn it all in a day is one of the satisfactions of winter:).
Unfortunately the price of the daily ski ticket is always very high and it is exploited only when, in fact, you can do all around the tour. However, there are many combinations for those who prefer a softer day (found on the monterosa-ski.com).

In ogni caso Champoluc è una cittadina di montagna che mantiene lo stile autentico valdostano (a differenza dell'inflazionatissima Courmayeur), con i propri prodotti e negozi tipici, la gente del posto e l'architettura rustica. E' bella di inverno e d'estate per le lunghe passeggiate.
La catena alpina a cui si affaccia è stupenda, dove impera il Monte Rosa. Da certi punti anche il Cervino.
La vita non è super economica - come dappertutto in montagna - però ci sono dei posti che permettono alta qualità (stiamo parlando di cucina ovviamente :) ) a prezzi competitivi.
Io adoro la cucina valdostana e presto vi indicherò i posti migliori in cui trovarla. I must-eat del luogo sono certamente la polenta concia (ossia con l'aggiunta di fontina), la zuppa valdostana (a base di fontina, verza, pane nero, brodo di carne), i formaggi d'alpeggio, la grappa e gli affettati come la mocetta.

Anyway, Champoluc is a mountain town that retains the authentic style of the Val d'Aosta (unlike Courmayeur because of its popularity), with its products and specialty shops, the chalet and the rustic architecture. It's beautiful winter and summer for long walks.
The Alps which overlooks Champoluc are beautiful: there reigns the Monte Rosa. In some ways you can see the Matterhorn too.
Life is not super cheap - as everywhere in the mountains - but there are places that allow high quality (we're talking about food, of course:)) at competitive prices.
I adore the cuisine from Val d'Aosta and soon I will show you the best places to find it. The local must-eat are certainly the polenta "concia" (that is, with the addition of fontina), the Aosta soup (made with fontina cheese, cabbage, black bread, meat broth), the mountain cheeses, grappa and meats such as dried beef.
