Lettera aperta a Dries Van Noten / Open letter to Mr. Van Noten

Una letterina a Dries Van Noten. Nella speranza che la legga, la parte in inglese è depurata rispetto a quella, un po' più intima e cruda (una sorta di prima stesura) in Italiano. ;)
My dear Mr Van Noten,
Caro Signor Van Noten,
I'm a fan of you. I loved your last collections, both for men and for women. Looking at your works I found you proposed, for this FW (2011-2012), same pieces for the two genders. There was a knitted white and blue pull, for example, in the men's and in the women's runway.
I totally felt in love with your last womenswear collection, SS 2012: such great prints. The forests, the chinese print and the idea of putting them togheter with prints of cities by James Reeve. But there was no contrast between humanity and nature, because the cities you represented were not chaotic, they were asleep in the night. So it was magnificient to see this unexpected armony.


Sono un suo fan. Ho amato le sue ultime collezioni, per uomo e donna. Guardando al suo lavoro ho notato che ha proposto, per questo autunno-inverno (2011-2012), gli stessi pezzi per entrambi i sessi. Per esempio c'era un maglione lavorato a trecce, bianco e blu, sia nella sfilata da uomo che in quella da donna. Mi sono innamorato della sua ultima collezione femminile, la primavera estate 2012: grandiose stampe. Le foreste, le stampe cinesi e l'idea di accompagnarle a stampe di città, di James Reeve. Ma non c'era contrasto tra umanità e natura, perchè le città che lei ha rappresentato non erano caotiche, ma addormentate nella notte. E' stato magnifico vedere questa insolita armonia.
What I wanted to ask you is: why couldn't you reproduce the same prints on menswear? I've done a sketch just for you, and I hope you'll keep in mind my advises. Call me If you need a help designing the collection (it can be a special capsule, can't it?).


Quello che le volevo chiedere è: perchè cazzo non ha riprodotto le stampe sulla collezione da uomo!?? Si muova a farlo. Le ho preparato uno schizzo, e spero che tenga conto delle mie idee (= lo faccia!). Mi chiami se serve (Sì, serve!) per questa nuova capsule collection (e veda di cominciare a invitarmi alle sfilate. E la smetta di utilizzare pelliccia di coniglio).
