Lignum et Cinis: the opening!

Ogni collaborazione, ogni mostra è un’avventura a sé. È un progetto che in qualche modo vive e si sviluppa in modo soggettivo e a volte inaspettato.

Each collaboration, each show is an adventure by itself. It’s a project that lives and develops somehow in a subjective and sometimes unexpected way.

Io sono abituata a lavorare con le foto, che di solito non si toccano direttamente, perchè hanno un vetro davanti a proteggerle, occupano (relativamente) meno spazio e non pesano molto.
In questo caso ho avuto a che fare con statue da 40 chili l’una e quadri grandi fino a 2×1 metri. Quadri dipinti in parte con cenere, che si sbriciolava in parte, spargendosi a terra.
Do l’idea di quanto sia stato suggestivo l’allestimento? Non abbastanza? Allora aggiungo che abbiamo anche composto un’installazione di lastre di legno, sporcate di cenere (a richiamare i quadri), per creare un percorso e per il visitatore ma anche per i bambini di legno scolpiti da Alessandro, desiderosi di saltellare qua e là, prima di cadere nel mondo reale.
E poi ci siete stati voi, che mercoledì sera avete contribuito a questa esposizione (perfino dal Belgio), con le vostre opinioni e punti di vista, facendoci scoprire qualcosa che era ancora invisibile. A tutti voi in nostro grazie di cuore!

I am used to working with photos, that usually you don’t touch directly, because they have a glass to protect them, they occupy (relatively) less of space and don’t weigh so much.
In this case I had to deal with statues of 40 pounds each, and large pictures up to 2×1 meters. These ones are painted in part with ash, in part crumbled, getting around and down.
Can I give you an idea of ​​how the construction was impressive? Not enough? Then I add that we also compose an installation with sheets of wood, dirty of ash (to recall the paintings), in order to create a path for the visitors but also for the children of wood carved by Alessandro, wishful jumping around, before falling in the real world.
And then there was you, who have contributed last Wednesday at this exposition (even from Belgium), with your opinions and points of view, making us discover something that was still invisible. To all of you in our heartfelt thanks!
