Make up per la ‘Festa delle Marie’- Carnevale di Venezia

Rievocazioni storiche e feste a tema per le quali vengono richieste le competenze di un bravo truccatore sono meno rare di quanto si possa immaginare.

Da molti anni ho la fortuna di rivestire il ruolo di truccatrice ufficiale della “Festa delle Marie”, rievocazione storica che da più di dieci anni insieme al famoso “lancio della Colombina”, è uno dei simboli stessi del Carnevale di Venezia, rappresentandone l’apertura ufficiale grazie a un’idea di Bruno Tosi, ideatore e regista della manifestazione.

Questa festa nasce per ricordare un importante e antico evento della città. La storia ci racconta che a Venezia prima dell’anno mille era d’uso celebrare tutti i matrimoni in un solo giorno. Il corteo delle spose partiva dal rio delle Vergini e arrivava, dopo aver attraversato la città, nella chiesa di S. Nicolò al Lido, ricongiungendosi così a quello dei futuri mariti.

Leggenda vuole che nel 943 i pirati assalirono il corteo e rapirono le spose. I veneziani, inferociti, li raggiunsero a Caorle, li trucidarono e si ripresero le giovani donne portandole a spalla in trionfo fino in piazza SanMarco. Da allora, a ricordo imperituro della vittoria,  la Serenissima impose a dodici ricche famiglie di provvedere ogni anno alla dote di altrettante veneziane povere scelte fra le più belle e simbolicamente chiamate Marie.

La festa, che dal 1300 in poi si svolgeva a gennaio, prevedeva che il Vescovo benedisse le dodici fanciulle nella chiesa di S. Pietro di Castello e che poi le scortasse fino a S. Marco per incontrare il Doge. A questo punto il corteo saliva sul Bucintoro per percorrere il Canal Grande tra ali di folla festante, raggiungeva Rialto e si arrestava a S. Maria Formosa, a quel tempo l’unica chiesa dedicata alla Madonna.

Oggi la cerimonia è cambiata, tuttavia dell’antica celebrazione sopravvivono l’incanto e l’atmosfera. Le ragazze sono portate in spalla da giovani e prestanti gondolieridurante il corteo storico che si tiene nella prima settimana di Carnevale per poi salire su un palco allestito in Piazza San Marco. Qui al termine dei festeggiamenti, una giuria sceglie la più bella che avrà poi l’onore di essere presentata alla cittadinanza il martedì grasso indossando un abito da sposa di alta moda. La selezione delle Marie, naturalmente, non viene più fatta in base al loro reddito ma è frutto di una lunga selezione effettuata tra le 100 fanciulle più belle della provincia di Venezia. Altri parametri che vengono presi in considerazione per effettuare la scelta sono l’età, che deve essere tra i 16 e i 27 anni e il portamento, dote quest’ultima di primaria importanza per indossare con la giusta eleganza un abito in stile ‘300. Ma il tocco finale che rende l’incanto reale è senza dubbio il trucco che deve essere realizzato tenendo in considerazione la sacralità della festa, la sua mondanità e la bellezza naturale delle ragazze pur nel pieno rispetto della tradizione.

Quello che consiglio a qualsiasi truccatore che si cimenti con un make-up di questo genere, è di documentarsi il più possibile sulle mode e le “tendenze” del trucco dell’epoca che si vuole rievocare.

Nel 1300 le giovani nobili erano di aspetto molto semplice. La pelle era chiarissima quasi diafana, in quanto queste fanciulle privilegiate non si esponevano mai al sole per lavorare. Anzi si potrebbe affermare senza remore che esibire una pelle non abbronzata costituiva un vero status symbol che esprimeva la non necessità di faticare per vivere e quindi la conseguente grande disponibilità economica.

Per rendere al meglio questo effetto consiglio di preparare una base leggera e naturale ma molto chiara per poi eliminare ogni imperfezione con l’utilizzo di un correttore della stessa tonalità del fondotinta. La cipria in questo caso è molto importante. Solitamente io scelgo la cosiddetta “polvere di riso” che dona oltre all’opacità richiesta anche una ulteriore nota di pallore ricercato.

A quel tempo le sopracciglia non venivano depilate come al giorno d’oggi e quindi in caso di ragazze con sopracciglia molto fini ( per eccessiva epilazione dei peli) si deve rinfoltirle disegnando dei peli aggiuntivi in maniera molto naturale con una matita dura per sopracciglia o con un eye-liner della tonalità adatta.

Si può utilizzare un ombretto in polvere opaco color avorio per dare luminosità allo sguardo sia nel punto luce che sotto l’angolo delle sopracciglia che sulla palpebra mobile.

Ma il tocco finale che rende l’incanto reale è senza dubbio il trucco che deve essere realizzato tenendo in con Un ombretto color prugna sfumato con del marrone verso l’angolo esterno dell’occhio, invece, può aiutare a donare un tono di colore e vivacità allo sguardo. In questa maniera si avrà una sfumatura molto naturale ma sempre nello stile dell’epoca.L’importante è dosare il colore che dovrà essere molto leggero.

Una linea sottilissima di eye-liner nero da inserire perfettamente tra l’attaccatura delle ciglia donerà intensità allo sguardo.

Il mascara va dato in maniera pulita, non dovrà cioè presentare grumi che possano far intuire la sua presenza. Le ciglia dovranno essere ben separate tra loro e se possibile curvate con un piegaciglia per dare importanza all’occhio in maniera efficace e naturale.

Un tocco di fard rosato sulle gote è d’obbligo, in modo da donare al volto un aspetto globalmente giovane e in salute, adatto a una giovane vergine. Per le labbra, solitamente sfumo un rosa naturale con le dita per dare anche qui l’effetto di circolazione sanguigna e quindi di passione e sensualità.

Acconciatura storica, una preziosa coroncina, qualche gioiello d’autore e un abito dipinto a mano e preparato da sapienti laboratori veneziani, completano il trucco di queste giovani donzelle, pronte ancora una volta a stupire migliaia di persone con la loro folgorante bellezza mentre voi adesso siete in possesso di tutti quei trucchi che vi permetteranno di lasciare a bocca aperta anche il più esigente dei clienti.

Historical parade and theme parties for which are required skills of a good make-up are less rare than you might imagine.

For many years I have been fortunate to play the role of makeup artist’s official “Festa delle Marie”, a reenactment that for more than ten years with the famous “launch of the Dove” is one of the symbol of the Carnival of Venice, represented the ‘ official opening with an idea of Bruno Tosi, founder and director of the event.
