È finalmente arrivato l’attesissimo brano inedito di Michael Jackson che anticipa la pubblicazione del primo album postumo del cantante, Michael, in uscita il 14 Dicembre. “Breaking News”, ultime notizie, è stato infatti presentato in anteprima esclusiva sul sito ufficiale del cantante, michaeljackson.com con uno streaming on-line in alta qualità. In puro Jackson-style, stando a questo pezzo, registrato a New Jersey nel 2007, l’ultima produzione di Michael avrebbe virato verso un pop commerciale, che ai bit elettronici mixa un sound orientaleggiante. A quanto pare anche Michael Jackson, spesso vittima del gossip e di paparazzi, come altri artisti prima di lui, tra i quali Britney Spears con Piece of me, si scaglia violentemente contro la stampa: «Tutti vogliono un pezzo di Michael Jackson – recita il nuovo testo de Il Re del Pop – i reporter inseguono i passi di Michael Jackson». Un brano profondamente autobiografico: «Non importa cosa, voi volete solo leggere di nuovo di lui».
Un brano forte ed energico, che avrebbe senza dubbio segnato un ritorno ed un rilancio della carriera dell’artista scomparso nel giugno del 2009 in grande stile, e che tristemente anticiperà solo ciò che avrebbe potuto essere ed invece purtroppo non è stato.
