Missione: Sopracciglia Perfette! ;)
I must admit I’m not so good with make up, beauty tips & co, but I think that, other than make-up, the eyebrows are essential to enhance the eyes and therefore the look, and are one of the most expressive features of the face and a great deal of emotion can be conveyed through them. So knowing nothing about I went surfing the web looking for some tips in order to shape them…(actually this post is one of the first I published, therefore I guess nobody has read it ;)! and since it has been useful to me I wanted to share it again, so here my “web notes” hoping you will find them useful as well!")
Devo ammettere che non sono affatto un’esperta di make-up, beauty & co, tutt’altro! ma credo che per migliorare lo sguardo, oltre il trucco, le sopracciglia possano essere un elemento essenziale, definendole in modo che valorizzino occhi e viso..e da profana sono andata cercando sul web qualche consiglio utile per “gestirle”…(in realtà questo post è stato uno dei primi che ho pubblicato e siccome immagino che non sia stato letto da nessuno ;)..ed a me è sembrato molto utile… ho deciso di riproporlo, quindi ecco i miei “appunti dal web” sperando che possiate trovarli utili anche voi !")
Basic Rule:
Look at your face in a well lighted mirror. During all the following steps make sure that you are looking straight ahead; both your face and your eyes should be looking directly forward into the mirror. To form the ideal eyebrow shape, simply follow three imaginary lines. Using an eyebrow pencil or anything long, straight and slender, hold the object vertically in front of your face. Line it up so that it touches the outer edge of your nostril and the inside corner of your eye. This line determines where your eyebrow should start (see Angelina Jolie image right, Line 1). Mark where the line crosses your eyebrow with an eyebrow pencil or eyeliner. Any eyebrow hair inside these two marks needs to be plucked out using tweezers. If your eyebrows fail to reach the marks you have made above the inner corners of your eyes, then you will need to fill that part of the eyebrow area in.
Take the eyebrow pencil and hold it to the outer edge of your nostril again. This time, swing the pencil towards your pupil. Stop when the eyebrow pencil crosses the center of your pupil. Mark the spot where the line meets your eyebrow. This is where your arch should begin, that means that this is the point where you must start to make your eyebrow thinner. Continue swinging the eyebrow pencil past your pupil to the outer edge of the iris (the colored portion) of the eye. Where the line intersects your eyebrow is where your eyebrow arch should be at its peak, or highest (see Angelina Jolie image Line 2). Mark this spot with an eyebrow pencil. To create the arch, remove hairs from the bottom of the brow bone, not the top. The only time you should pluck hair from above the brow line is when you are removing any stray hairs that occur above the brow. After the peak, the arch should begin descending immediately.
Taking the eyebrow pencil from the outer edge of your nostril once more, line it up so that it passes along the outermost corner of your eye (not your eyelashes) to your brow area (see Angelina Jolie image Line 3). This is where your eyebrow should end. Mark this point with an eyebrow pencil. Remove any hairs that fall beyond these points. Ideally, the inside portion of the eyebrow should be thickest and should taper towards the outer edge.
Regola “geometrica” di base:
Mettiti davanti ad uno specchio ben illuminato e guarda fisso dritto davanti a te. È fondamentale guardare correttamente dritto davanti a te senza storcere gli occhi. Con un eyeliner segnare i punti indicati di seguito per poi passare a definire l’arco con le pinzette.
Usando una matita per gli occhi, o un oggetto analogo, posizionala verticalmente all’estremità della tua narice, allineala all’angolo interno dell’occhio. Il punto in cui la matita incontra il sopracciglio è il punto in cui di norma devono cominciare le sopracciglia. Tutti i peletti prima vanno tolti (linea 1 di Angelina Jolie).
Sempre guardando dritto avanti e posizionando la matita sull’estremità della narice ruotala finche non incrocia la pupilla. A questo punto lì dove la matita incrocia le sopracciglia devi cominciare a definire/assottigliare l’arco togliendo i peletti. È importante non iniziare ad assottigliarla prima altrimenti si rischia di ritrovarsi con della sopracciglia a forma di U capovolta, che non donano affatto. A nessuna.
Una volta definito il punto di inizio per assottigliare le sopracciglia definiamo il punto più alto dell’arco. Sempre posizionando la matita all’estremità della narice e guardando dritto davanti ruotatela ulteriormente fino al bordo esterno dell’iride. In questa posizione la matita incrocerà la sopracciglia nel punto che deve essere l’apice della curva (linea 2 di Angelina Jolie).
Per definire il punto in cui le sopracciglia devono terminare continuate a ruotare la matita posizionata all’esterno della narice finche non incrocia l’angolo esterno dell’occhio. Qui finisce l’arco (linea 3 di Angelina Jolie).
You generally want to keep the beginning and the end of the eyebrow more or less even. If the end of your eyebrow is noticeably above the beginning of your eyebrow, you will likely end up with a fierce, angry look. This may or may not necessarily be the look you were hoping for.
The exception to the above rule: women who have almond shaped eyes.
Per scegliere l’altezza dell’inizio e della fine delle sopracciglia si deve tracciare una linea immaginaria dal punto di inizio al punto finale del sopracciglio e far in modo che questa linea non sia troppo inclinata. Quando il sopracciglio finisce molto più in alto rispetto a dove inizia, determinando una linea molto inclinata, lo sguardo risulta molto più aggressivo e innaturale. Fanno eccezione gli occhi a mandorla il cui angolo esterno è di natura più alto.
Top Tips:
1.Do not make eyebrows too thin. Skinny eyebrows make your look heavier and older.
2.Do not use a magnifying mirror. It makes you over-pluck because you start obsessing over every hair.
3.Avoid scissors.
Face Shape specific tips:
Round Face: If you have a round face like the adorable Drew Barrymore, emphasizing the arch of the eyebrow will help give you a more narrow-faced appearance by drawing attention away from the width of your face. Your eyebrows should have a high arch.
Long Face: If you have a long face, such as the lovely Jennifer Love Hewitt, do not emphasize the arch of the eyebrow. Instead, flatten the eyebrow arch to almost nothing. Doing so will give your face a more horizontal dimension making it appear shorter. Also, make sure not to extend your eyebrows past the outer corners of the eye.
Square/Angular Face: If you have a square/angular face, a la Demi Moore, use a high arch and a rounded curve on the outer ends of the eyebrows. Rounded eyebrows will help to soften the sharp angles of your face making it appear more oval.
Close-Set Eyes: For those women with close-set eyes, try shaping the eyebrows a little closer to the inner corner of your eye and extending the outer edge a bit further outward. This will help give the illusion that your eyes are set further apart.
Wide-Set Eyes:If you have wide-set eyes, extend the eyebrows inward a bit. This will make your eyes appear closer together. Be careful not to give yourself a “frowning” appearance, however.
Low Forehead:Women who have a low forehead should use a low arch when shaping their eyebrows. Doing so will give your forehead more height. You want to be careful not to over arch your brows since even a moderate arch can leave you looking in a permanent state of surprise.
How to determine the thickness of your eyebrows: You should let the natural strength of your features determine the thickness of your eyebrows. If you have delicate features, for example, you should go for not heavy, but delicate eyebrows. Women with strong features and thick hair on the other hand should have thick eyebrows to match. Your eyebrows should help balance out your other features. Thick eyebrows on a face with small, delicate features will overpower the face, while thin, delicate eyebrows on a face with strong features will make those features seem even bigger and more pronounced.
PRINCIPALI CONSIGLI
1. Evitare di farsi sopracciglia troppo sottili perché appesantiscono e invecchiano lo sguardo.
2. Non usare specchi che ingrandiscono perché si finisce per togliere più peli di quanti se ne dovrebbe.
3. Non tagliatele con le forbici
Nello specifico:
° Viso Tondo: preferite un arco alto e accentuato. Questo tocco di verticalità mitiga le rotondità del viso.
° Viso Lungo: evitate una curva alta, anzi l’arco deve avere un apice ridottissimo, in questo modo darete una dimensione orizzontale allo sguardo, che andrà a bilanciare la lunghezza del viso e regalerà ai vostri lineamenti un aspetto più regolare.
° Viso Quadrato/Spigoloso: l’ideale è un arco alto con una curvatura morbida. Questo addolcirà lineamenti troppo duri.
° Occhi Vicini: allungate, senza eccedere, la fine delle vostre sopracciglia un po’ oltre il punto individuato come finale in base alla regola geometrica descritta sopra.
° Occhi Distanti: accorciate, ma con moderazione, la fine delle vostre sopracciglia rispetto al punto individuato come finale in base alla regola geometrica descritta sopra.
° Fronte Bassa: in questo caso è consigliato un arco basso. Un arco troppo alto vi conferirebbe una espressione di costante sorpresa.
° Come determinare lo spessore: se avete lineamenti delicati o un viso piccolo preferite sopracciglia affusolate. Una linea troppo spessa occuperebbe troppo spazio appesantendo il viso. Per un viso dai lineamenti forti sono consigliate sopracciglia più consistenti che accompagnano il viso. Una linea troppo sottile evidenzierebbe ulteriormente lineamenti già pronunciati.
