Giorgia Bronzini si è confermata campionessa del mondo vincendo la prova in linea riservata alle donne elite.
Per la quinta volta consecutiva,l'olandese Marianna Vosdeve accontentarsi della medaglia d'argento; bronzo per la tedesca Ina Yoko Teutenberg. Fuori dal podio la britannica Nicole Cooke, che finisce quarta.

Nel successo della Bronzini, grande merito alla squadra, ma soprattutto a Monia Baccaille, che l'ha pilotata alla perfezione nei metri finali.
Giorgia ci ha tenuto a ringraziare tutto il gruppo.

Un applauso doveroso va anche al CT Edoardo Salvoldi, che ha orchestrato al meglio la squadra.
I risultati parlano per lui:in 5 edizioni,ha portato l’Italia sul tetto del mondo ben 4 volte Bastianello 2007, Guderzo 2009, Bronzini 2010 e 2011 ).
