Nuove Architetture a Sofia

Bulgarian Mall 2012

Ciao! La Capitale Bulgara non stà perdendo occasione per aggiungere punti alla candidatura per la Capitale Europea della Cultura del 2019. Vi avevo già anticipato nel post sulla “Sofia Architecture Week” come la città non mantiene solo a parole e sulla carta i suoi progetti, ma anzi li realizza a grande velocità! Forse anche spinti dall’obiettivo di miglioramento per il 2019, fatto stà che oltre alle numerose iniziative culturali che si danno il cambio a ruota libera qui in città vi sono anche Palazzi che “spuntano” o si rinnovano nel giro di pochi mesi. Un esempio? Ve ne farò più d’uno: Nel post sulla settimana dell’architettura svolta al Palazzo della Cultura vi avevo accennato  della premiazione di alcuni Studi di Architettura Bulgari, tra i premiati vi era il progetto delle Sopharma Business Towers di Architectonika Studio, Aрх. Паскалев (Arch. Paskalev) ha avuto come primo obiettivo quello dell’efficienza energetica infattisfrutta energie degli elementi naturali: sole, vento e il calore della terra e dell’acqua sotterranee, si classifica così nella sezione A delle higt-tech eco-sostenibili europee e del mondo. Per avere un ordine di idee sul risparmio energetico di questo progetto: secondo statistiche ufficiali in Bulgaria gli edifici di questa portata hanno un consumo medio di 180 KWh/mq all’anno e questi nuovi edifici arrivano a risparmiarne almeno 70 KWh/mq in un anno! Per questo ha ricevuto la Gold Certification per l’edilizia sostenibile in costruzione BGNB of the Year 2011 nelle categorie: “Edificio per uffici” e “Green Building”. Queste due torri rivestite interamente in vetro si trovano vicino al Museo dell’Arte Socialista o del Totalitarismo anch’esso aperto da pochi mesi e di cui ne hanno parlato anche due delle maggiori testate italiane. Vi sarete domandati forse, di quali sorgenti di acqua e terra caldi stiamo parlando, dato anche che notoriamente non è un luogo caldissimo questo soprattutto d’inverno, ma Sofia ha molte sorgenti di acqua calda nel sottosuolo e in tal proposito mi vengono in mente le fontane di acqua calda pubbliche vicino agli ex-Bagni Turchi creati sulle vestigia delle Terme Romane e edificati nel 1908 da Petko Momcilov e Jordan Milanov, attualmente non in funzione come terme, ma stanno attualmente lavorando per renderli presto pubblici con due funzioni: nell’ala destra Centro Benessere e nell’ala sinistra Museo di Storia di Sofia. Li ho visitati insieme alla mia amica Джулия Джункова Тровато (Dzhuliya Dzhunkova Trovato) mentre li stavano restaurando e ci hanno mostrato uno dei due unici modelli di Mercedes d’epoca. Come avrete capito, si stanno ampliando gli orizzonti culturali qui a Sofia, tra musei d’arte, storia, e nuove architetture, infatti altro nuovo progetto di cui si sta parlando da queste parti è il cosiddetto “Louvre Bulgaro” che in realtà si tratta del National Museum Complex,  proprio perché se devono prendere riferimento per qualche nuova idea culturale partono solo dalle più grandi! A detta delle parole del Ministro alla cultura (e scultore) Вежди Рашидов (Vezhdi Rashidov). Sono dunque cominciati i lavori per la nuova sede che sarà la vetrina della grande collezione d’arte del Paese, fino ad ora sono molti i musei dove le collezioni sono “girate” di periodo in periodo, perché non c’è spazio sufficiente per metterle tutte in mostra in contemporanea. Il “Louvre Bulgaro” avrà una superficie approssimativa di 25.000 mq e una grande corte  interna all’edificio che fungerà da “giardino di sculture” sorgerà proprio alle spalle dell’attuale National Gallery for Foreign Art, nel quale in questi giorni vi è la mostra Paris 1900, questo lotto di edifici del centro storico di Sofia ha davanti la suggestiva immagine della Cattedrale neo-bizzantina Aleksandar Nevski (Храм-паметник Свети Александър Невски) del XIX secolo. Ma se di nuove sede per Musei Sofia aveva bisogno, certo non si fa mancare neanche i centri commerciali, abbiamo già detto di quello delle Sopharma Towers, ma non posso non dirvi del nuovo Bulgarian Mall inaugurato lo scorso 01.12.2012 e degli altri due in corso d’opera di cui uno sarà come dicono, il più grande d’Europa! Intanto ho visitato il Bulgarian Mall dello Studio 17,5 la cui particolarità architettonica si gioca quasi tutta sulla corte interna ed il gioco di scale mobili e ponti di collegamento tra un livello e l’altro, direi che questo sia quasi un riferimento ai disegni di Maurits Cornelis Escher ! Lo Studio 17,5 è stato fondato nel 2001 a Sofia ed opera con aziende della Gran Bretagna, Israele, Stati Uniti e Germania. Ed ora che vi ho parlato di musei e centri commerciali, non possono mancare le nuove residenze e gli uffici, vi prenderò ad esempio il nuovo Red Apple Apartment Building, tutt’ora (anche se per poco) in costruzione e che ho qui a pochi metri da dove vi scrivo, ho visto il progetto esposto al Vivatel Art Center/Palazzo delle Telecomunicazioni, è opera dell’ aEdes Studio, Aрх. П. Братков, Aрх P. Браткова и инж. L. Alashki (Arch. P. Bratkov, Arch. R. Bratkova e Ing. L. Alashki), se lo volete vedere nel suo gioco di volumi, finestre, balconi e giardini pensili andate in булевард Петко Йорданов Tодоров (Boulevard Petko Todorov Yordanov), il rivestimento in laterizio, ma con un sapiente gioco di chiaro scuro dato dal posizionamento sfalzato dei mattoni su uno dei prospetti. Nel giro di due giorni a passeggio per Sofia avevo già notato tre palazzi in particolare e guarda caso tutti e tre provenienti dalle punte di lapis di questo studio, sto parlando anche del Jaclyn Residential & Office Building (2005-2008) e del successivo Building in Sofia giovanissimo edificio. Sembra che questo studio costruisca in parallelo ai Bulgarian Mall, visto che sono entrambi e rispettivamente vicini al nuovo B.M. ed al vecchio B.M. Non c’è che dire, si fanno riconoscere per i loro volumi che entrano ed escono dai prospetti, giocano sapientemente con chiaroscuri, colori e materiali. Adesso vi lascio e spero di avervi dato un piccolo quadro su quello che sono riuscita a vedere in questi giorni qui a Sofia, ma ho ancora da dirvi un bel pò di cose su questa città e non solo sull’architettura! Hello! The Bulgarian capital is not losing an opportunity to add points to candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2019. I had mentioned earlier in the post on “Sofia Architecture Week” as the city does not keep just in words and on paper his plans, but rather creates them at high speed! Perhaps driven by the goal of improvement in 2019, the fact is that in addition to the many cultural events that take turns freewheeling here in the city there are buildings that “sprout” or renewed within a few months. An example? I will make him more than one: In the post on the week of architecture held at the Palace of Culture I had pointed out some of the award of Architectural Studies Bulgari, among the winners there was a draft of Sopharma Business Towers Architectonika Studio, Aрх. Паскалев (Arch. Paskalev) which had as its primary objective is energy efficiency, in fact, use the energy of the natural elements:  sun, wind and geothermal and underground water, it ranks well in section A of higt-tech eco-friendly Europe and the world. To get an order of ideas on energy saving of this project: according to official statistics in Bulgaria buildings of this size have an average consumption of 180 kWh / m² per year and these new buildings come to save fluid at least 70 kWh / m² a year! For this he received the Gold Certification for sustainable building under construction BGNB of the Year 2011 in the categories: “Office building” and “Green Building”. I visited with my friend Джулия Джункова Тровато (Dzhuliya Dzhunkova Found) while they were restoring and showed us one of only two models of Mercedes vintage. I therefore started work on the new site that will showcase the largest collection of art in the country, until now there are many museums where collections are “shot” from period to period, because there is enough space to put them all on show at the same time. The “Bulgarian Louvre” will have an approximate area of 25,000 square meters and a large courtyard building that will serve as a “sculpture garden” will be built just behind of the National Gallery for Foreign Art, where these days there is the exhibition Paris 1900, this lot of buildings in the center of Sofia in front of the striking image of the neo-Byzantine Aleksandar Nevski Cathedral (Храм-паметник Свети Александър Невски) of the nineteenth century.
