Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida Niemeyer Soares Filho, Architetto della “vecchia grande Scuola” e dalla mente geniale. Nato a Rio de Janeiro nel 1907, ci ha purtroppo lasciati oggi, 6 dicembre 2012 alla veneranda età di 104 anni. Quando ho sentito la notizia ho pensato che ancora ci ricorderemo di lui, ogni volta ricorderemo il suo nome e del suo “tratto” sinuoso e futuristico che rendeva leggere le sue grandi architetture! Definito dai critici uno “scultore” della materia architettura, un artista prima che un tecnico, due figure difficili da trovare in un’unica persona e soprattutto di quella portata. Tutti ci ricorderemo ancora di lui, come di tutti i più grandi Architetti dei tempi passati e che hanno segnato la Storia dell’Architettura, in termini di stilemi, materiali, innovazioni tecnologiche e che soprattutto hanno lasciato nei nostri occhi e nei nostri ricordi, paesaggi urbani e architettonici di grande spessore ed eleganza stilistica.

Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida Niemeyer Soares Filho, Architect of the “old high school” and the brilliant mind. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1907, there has unfortunately left today, December 6, 2012 at the age of 104 years. When I heard the news I thought that we still remember him every time we remember his name and his “stretch” sinuous and futuristic read that made its great architecture! Defined by critics as a “sculptor” of matter architecture, an artist before a technician, two figures are difficult to find in one person, and especially of that magnitude. We all still remember him, as all the great architects of the past and that have marked the history of architecture in terms of styles, materials, technological innovations and above all they have left in our eyes and in our memories, landscapes urban and architectural of great elegance and style.
