Here Christmas time feels a bit different than in Europe, especially for someone who, like me, has spent the last twenty eight Christmases with cold weather, wearing gloves and scarf... Therefore “Christmas holidays” sounds a bit weird too, because my options here were “what are we gonna do today: beach, BBQ or park??!!” So, as in Italy I always spent my winter holidays visiting Christmas markets, eating roasted chestnuts and drinking vin brulè, in my own way I’ve tried to be faithful to my traditions even here! So on a hot Saturday morning, wearing havaianas on my feet and camera on my neck, together with a friend …I went to Paddington market! Paddington is a suburb of Sydney, known for its trendy boutiques, emerging designers and most sought-after outfits… and right in the heart of this neighborhood, every Saturday morning from 10 you can find this small market. There are several markets in Sydney, each one reflecting its own district: this particular one gathers together many creative young people who exhibit and sell their creations and ideas. If you have something original and new you can expose and sell it here ... good intentions and creative impulses are welcome! Coming back to us ...here you will find some shots of that Saturday morning, Giulia and I walked around these stands for two good hours, not looking for anything specific, just browsing and trying on something here, something there ... I almost felt in love with one wool cape convertible into skirt (although the seasons are reversed here, I still have the problem that in the summer I can’t resist winter garments... despite the 36 degrees!) ... Giulia tried on possible dresses for the wedding of her friend in Italy ...you can image…we had heaps of fun. We met a nice Australian lady, who wouldn’t let us go anymore, telling us about her trip to Venice; we tasted tea, infusions and gluten free bread ... and tried on improbable clothes that neither of us would ever wear, just for the sake of saying "Have you seen this one? "!!! So here for you the shots of that day, remember to add a temperature of about 36 degrees and the shade of large trees and it will be like being there with me! Ah ... if you're wondering what we eventually bought... well ... I’ m sorry to disappoint you, we both left empty-handed ... but after two weeks she is still thinking about that
