Paris - Vercelli : a direct train that crosses countrysides

Buon viaggio!

It could sounds incredible but it's true: The TGV from northern Italy to Paris have a stop in Vercelli, my hometown. So I could (and it was not the first time) to experience the thrill of a direct ride from my little town in Piedmont to la Ville without changes. A nice trip, pretty long (about 6 hours), quite comfortable and cheap (€ 35 once, and another 45, and in 2009 I was able to find tickets for 25 €) (I always recommend to all: check out the offers on
TGV site!).
The train is the transport I use the most to travel. It could be because I'm not, I can say, a pilot car, but I went through Italy and France by train without any problems many times.
This time, I decided to document the journey passed next to the window. Keeping sit and see the countryside that changes next to you is a strange sensation and the landscape that unfolds on your side is even more impressive. I leave you the images, from French country to rice fields, through the Alps.
Enjoy your trip!

E ben tornati a casa.

And welcome back home.
Thanks for traveling with us ;).

ps: HERE you can find the
TGV's website. As I said, I would recommend it to all those who are comfortable to leave from Milan or Turin or what it between them (Italian last stop is Bardonecchia). It 's comfortable, it doesn't require to be there in advance such as airports and it doesn't have limitations of bags, weights, liquids etc. The station in Paris is wonderful and in the downtown. Since leaving Italy in the morning (from Milan at 6a.m.) you'll arrive in Paris at 13.30 or so, so I suggest you the Birstots that are near the station. It will be the first taste of the real Paris.
