Past simple (to be)

Il past simple di to be si forma con was per la prima e terza persona singolare e were per tutte le altre.

Si usa:

• Per situazioni o stati conclusi nel passato : We were in Rome last week
• Si usa per costruire il passato con there: There was a great party last night
• Si usa con born per parlare della nascita : I was born in 1978
• Si usa per un tempo specifico nel passato : It was a beautiful day
