Il PRO12 Rugby ha annunciato oggi che Al Kellock, ex capitano di Glasgow Warriors e Scozia, è stato scelto come "Ambassador" per la 2016 Guinness PRO12 Final che si giocherà al BT Murrayfield sabato 28 maggio 2016, con kick-off fissato per le 5.30pm.
Al Kellock, che ha anche vestito la maglia di Edinburgh Rugby, è quindi il miglior Ambassador possibile per la '2016 Final', la prima che si giocherà in Scozia. Il Pro12 cercherà, anche attraverso l'esperienza di 'Big Al', che ha appeso gli scarpini lo scorso maggio dopo il trionfo di Belfast, di centrare il record di presenze per una Guinness PRO12 Final. Edimburgo è una città che ha una radicata tradizione rugbistica e la scelta della Highland Cathedral si presenta come una scommessa ma sicuramente con buone possibilità di essere vinta.
Al Kellock ha detto al sito ufficiale della SRU che " last year's final was undoubtedly the most special day of my playing career, made even bigger by the fact I knew it was my last. One thing that has struck me though is how much it meant to our supporters.
So many have talked to me about how incredible that weekend was, not just the game but the whole experience in Belfast. I know Edinburgh and BT Murrayfield will give this and more to everyone who comes in May.
Scotland has a great track record of hosting major sporting events and I look forward to working with the PRO12 as an ambassador to encourage rugby fans far and wide to attend the Final. "
