Risorse gratis e web designer: Gimp e i suoi FREE-telli

Anche questa settimana E-deaimage ripropone l'appuntamento settimanale con le segnalazioni delle risorse free per i grafici e web designer presenti sulla rete. Oggi l'argomento è "delicato" perchè si parla di ritocco delle immagini! Delicato perchè quando si parla con un grafico di visual non si può non citare Photoshop. Lui e tutta la sua "cricca", che compongono la Creative Suite di Adobe, sono gli strumenti top di gamma (parafrasando il nostro CEO) nel campo delle realizzazioni grafiche e questo è largamente riconosciuto. 
Non tutti sanno però delle grandi risorse online free e opensource presenti sul web, che si avvicinano moltissimo a Photoshop e con le quali è possibile realizzare dei lavori professionali!
Ecco qui un elenco di alcuni programmi free per la grafica e il fotoritocco.
GIMPGimp un ottimo strumento completamente gratuito ed opensource (chi ha progettato il software ne permette lo studio e l'implementazione da parte di tutti) che permette di realizzare e modificare immagini, effettuare fotoritocco, e disegnare.
E' sicuramente un software che può competere con Photoshop in quanto è provvisto di tutta una serie di funzioni e plug-in che permettono di arrivare ad un risultato professionale e di alto livello qualitativo.
Io stesso l'ho usato e ancora oggi lo uso saltuariamente. Per chi è abituato a lavorare con photoshop, all'inizio potrà avere qualche difficoltà, o perchè non trova i comandi o perchè può sembrare che non permetta di realizzare tutto ciò che un creativo vuol mettere a video. Per esperienza personale, posso dirvi che non è così. Gimp dispone davvero di una serie di funzioni molto simili a Photoshop, con la differenza che hanno nomi, ovviamente diversi. Addirittura sò per certo che alcune facoltà universitarie di disegno industriale hanno adottato Gimp per insegnare la grafica...quindi è sicuramente uno strumento valido! Inoltre il software dispone della versione Windows e di quella Mac.
PAINT.NETPaint.net è un altro ottimo software che permette il fotoritocco o l'elaborazione di immagini professionali completamene gratuito. Unico requisito, è il Frame.net 3.5 con il quale il software è stato realizzato e che di base è installato su tutti i sistemi Windows.L'interfaccia grafica del programma, a differenza di Gimp, è molto simile a Photoshop, pertanto il programma potrebbe risultare molto familiare ai Photoshop users che vogliono affacciarsi ai programmi free.
In origine, si vocifera che Paint.net avrebbe dovuto sostituire il "sempre presente sui nostri pc" Paint, ma poi si è preferito continuare sulla strada dell'opensource. Paint.net contiene tutta una serie di plug in implementabili, che permettono di aumentare la professionalità e lavorabilità del nostro file anche attraverso le funzioni dei livelli, che ci aiutano nella progettazione grafica.
LIGHT IMAGE RESIZERTra i tre è il meno professionale, ma sicuramente tra i più utili per chi non si occupa di grafica continuamente: Light Image Resizer infatti è un potente strumento free per uso personale, per convertire le nostre immagini e ridimensionarle molto velocemente.
Con Light Image Resizer potrete infatti trasformare le vostre immagini jpg in pdf, oppure, ottima funzione anche per il mio Boss, la possibilità di inserire la filigrana per proteggere le nostre immagini.


Non solo immagini però, esistono in rete anche molti software per la modellazione 3d abbastanza potenti da poter essere utilizzati per realizzare lavori professionali; molto usato nella facoltà di Disegno industriale è infatti BLENDER. Il programma permette davvero di fare un sacco di cose nel campo della grafica 3d: modellazione, animazioni multimediali, videogiochi e video in tre dimensioni. Siamo sinceri però: il software non è molto semplice da usare, ma, consultando tutorial on line e spendendoci un pò di tempo, vi assicuro che i risultati saranno favolosi.
Ultima indiscrezione, che voglio confidarvi a bassa voce: Adobe, si proprio lei, la mamma di photoshop, ha iniziato da qualche tempo, a permettere di scaricare gratis la CS2…Lo diciamo a bassa voce perché, non si è ancora capito bene la motivazione, ma potrete sicuramente farvi un idea più chiara leggendo l'articolo di questo nostro amico blogger su www.pc-facile.com

Also this week E-deaimage.com proposes the weekly appointment with free resources on the network for graphics and web designers. The topic is "tricky" because when you talk about  web design, you have to mention the king Photoshop. This software and all its "gang" of the Creative Suite Adobe's tools are top of the line (to paraphrase our CEO) in the field of graphic design and this is widely recognized.
But not everyone knows of the great amount of free resources and open source on the web, which are very close to Photoshop, that can allow you to create every kind of professional stuff!
Here is a list of some free software for web designer and photo editing.
GIMP
Gimp an excellent tool completely free and open source (who designed the software allows the study and implementation by all) that allows you to create and edit images, perform photo editing, and drawing. It's definitely a software that easily can compete with Photoshop because it has a great number of features and plugins that allow you to create a professional and high quality. I've used and still use it occasionally. Those who are used to work with Photoshop, could have some difficulty at the beginning such as not find the command or others. In my personal experience, I can tell you it's more easier than it looks. Gimp has really a series of functions very similar to Photoshop, the only differences are the names. I know that in some university courses of Industrial Design, Gimp was adopted to teach graphics...so it's definitely a good tool! Furthermore the software is available for Windows and Mac.
PAINT.NET
Paint.net is another great free software that allows you in images editing. The only requirement is the Frame.net 3.5 with which the software was created and that it is installed on all Windows systems. The graphic interface of the program, as opposed to Gimp, is very similar to Photoshop, so the program should be very familiar to all users. Originally, it was rumored that Paint.net would replace the "always present on our pc" Paint, but then it was decided to continue on the of open source way. Also Paint.net has a great amount of plug-in that can be implemented which help us in graphic design.
LIGHT IMAGE RESIZER
Among the three, this one is the most un-professional, but certainly one of the most useful for those who are not interested in professional. Light Image Resizer is a powerful tool indeed free for personal use, usefull to convert our images and resize them very quickly. With this software you can resize or save your images into .jpg or .pdf and, excellent function for my Boss, you can insert the watermark to protect your images.
Not just images, however, there are also many online software for 3D modeling, powerful enough to be used to create professional works, for example widely used in the faculty of Industrial Design is in fact BLENDER. The program really allows you to do a lot of things in 3D graphics: modeling, animation, multimedia, gaming and video in three dimensions. Let's be honest: the software is very simple to use, also consulting and online tutorials, and if you spend a bit of time, I assure you that the results will be fabulous.
Last indiscretion: Adobe, the mother of Photoshop, started to allow the free download of CS2...I say it softly because the reason is not so clear yet...We will see!
