Sembra che non è neanche difficile farlo, ma non saprei perché non riesco mai a trovare il tempo per provare. Io ce l'ho, ma sapendo che probabilmente non lo farò entro i prossimi diece anni, le ho proposto un baratto: il suo sapone per qualche mio assorbente mestruale lavabile.

Homemade soap is more natural than industrial soap, and then you also know exactly what's in it and you can fiddle around with the ingredients to create certain characteristics. It seems that it isn't even particularly difficult to make it, but I wouldn't know that because I never find time to try. I thought she might be interested seeing as she'd invited me to write a guest post on cloth pads. Out of the three pads that I sent her, she put a mini pantyliner up for grabs in a giveaway. And in exchange for those, she sent me a TON of soap!!
Come ho detto prima, si possono personalizzare molto le saponette e Ste ha un sacco di ricette diverse sul suo blog. Nel pacco c'erano un paio alla calendula, un paio al cacao e diversi alla lavanda (che si vedono nella prima foto), un flaconcino di sapone liquido per mani/corpo e due saponi più grossi per il bucato (qui sopra). Ma quanto sono fortunata! Mia figlia ed io ci siamo impazzite quando abbiamo aperto il pacco e siamo d'accordo che il sapone alla lavanda è il nostro preferito.
As I said before, you can really personalize soap and Ste has a ton of different recipes on her blog. In the package there were a couple each of calendula and cocoa and a bunch of lavender ones (all of which you can see in the first image of this post), a bottle of liquid soap for hands/body and two bigger bars of soap for laundry (above). How lucky I am! My daughter and I were going wild when we opened the package and we agree that the lavender ones are our favorites.
Devo dire, quando uno ha il sapone così bello, diventa un gran piacere lavarsi le mani! Prossimamente: altri due post col tema sapone!
*Una considerazione per chi vuole usare le saponette naturali ed artigianali: grazie alla loro composizione, hanno la tendenza di "sciogliere" se non lasciate ad asciugarsi per bene dopo averle usate. Quindi bisogna usare un portasapone il più aperto possibile. Ste consiglia un portasapone a griglia per poter far passare l'aria per non farli sciupare.

*A note to those who want to use natural handmade soaps: due to their composition, they tend to "melt" and get gooey if you don't let them dry properly between use. This is why it's important to use as open a soap holder as possible. Ste advises using one with a grid-patterned bottom to let air get through so they don't turn into goo.
