Dimenticatevi quei due eccentrici signori, di aspetto attraente e vestiti di fine ottocento, perchè lo Sherlock dei giorni nostri usa il cellulare, o meglio, uno smartphone, possiede un computer, ha un sito web e frusta i cadaveri...ma solo per studiare i lividi che si possono formare su un corpo morto da poco. Watson invece ha anche un blog personale.
Due modi e due mondi differenti, epoche completamente diverse, ma un'unica costante: la scienza della deduzione.
E' così il nuovo Sherlock e non ha nulla da invidiare al suo corrispondente più antico, forse solo il romanticismo che si cela nella Londra Vittoriana, già cornice e sfondo di numerosi capolavori. Ma, attraverso qualsiasi epoca, possiamo dire che Londra è sempre Londra, ci farà comunque innamorare di sè.
Una prima stagione (si parla già della realizzazione della terza serie televisiva, mentre la seconda non è ancora stata tradotta in italiano) composta da soli tre episodi che riprendono leggermente i titoli dei racconti di Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: Uno studio in rosa, Il banchiere cieco e Il grande gioco.

Cos’ha in comune con il capolavoro di Guy Ritchie? Assolutamente nulla. Sono due prodotti totalmente diversi, che non possono essere comparati, entrambi di ottima qualità e, anche se non si direbbe, fedeli alle descrizioni di Conan Doyle. Uno Sherlock un po’ troppo eccentrico, figo e atletico? Forse, ma tutti tratti che bene o male possiamo ritrovare nei libri. Spesso si tende a rimanere fuorviati dalle riproduzioni delle stampe dell’epoca in cui il noto investigatore viene rappresentato in modo composto e con un’aria quasi emaciata, ma leggendo i racconti originali, si impareranno a conoscere i vari e molteplici aspetti del caro Holmes e del fido Watson.
