Shopping in the snow

Dear readers, this week the weather in Milan has been quite unstable: forecasts said snow should fall for several days, but actually it showed up just for some moments. Anyway it created, along with light decorations downtown and rich shop windows, a beautiful Christmas atmosphere.
This year I decided to buy myself some gifts more (I think I really deserve them!). Here the results of my first shopping expedition: nothing exceptional, but surely a good start.

At Louis Vuitton boutique in Via Montenapoleone I bought this agenda cover (I really needed one!) in Damier Ebène, PM format. I decided for this version because I don't like classic Louis Vuitton Monogram (I find it is quite inflated and imitated too). I think it would have been nice also a version in Damier Graphite, but it does not exists in PM format yet; moreover, in my opinion Graphite is more suitable for travel bags than for small leather goods.

I also bought Tom Ford Pour Homme. I've always been in love with it, but I never purchased it before because until last month I still had plenty of oriental/boisé fragrances (they are my favourite) that now are almost over. I absolutely adore its fresh opening (lemon leaf oil, Italian bergamot, mandarin zest, basil, violet and ginger) followed by precious essences (Tunisian orange flower absolute, Maroccan grapefruit flower, black pepper, tobacco leaf absolute) and the final blend of warm notes (amber, cedarwood heart, patchouli, vetiver mist, oakmoss, leatherwood and Indian cypriol).

Cari lettori, questa settimana il tempo a Milano è stato piuttosto instabile: le previsioni dicevano che la neve sarebbe dovuta cadere per diversi giorni, ma in realtà è comparsa solo per alcuni momenti. In ogni caso ha creato, insieme alle luminarie in centro e alle ricche vetrine, una bella atmosfera natalizia.
Quest'anno ho deciso di farmi qualche regalo in più (penso davvero di meritarli!). Ecco i risultati del mio primo giro di shopping: niente di eccezionale, ma sicuramente un buon inizio.
Nella boutique Louis Vuitton in via Montenapoleone ho comprato questa cover per agenda (avevo davvero bisogno di averne una!) in Damier Ebène, formato PM. Ho optato per questa versione perché non mi piace molto il classico monogramma Louis Vuitton (trovo che sia abbastanza inflazionato e imitato, anche). Penso che sarebeb stata carina anche una versione in Damier Graphite, ma al momento non esiste in formato PM; inoltre, a mio parere il Graphite è più adatto a borse da viaggio che alla piccola pelletteria.
Ho comprato anche Tom Ford Pour Homme. Sono sempre stato innamorato di tale profumo, ma non l'ho mai acquistato prima perché fino al mese scorso avevo ancora un sacco di orientali /boisé (sono i miei preferiti) che ora sono invece quasi terminati. Adoro il suo opening fresco (olio di foglia di limone, bergamotto italiano, scorza di mandarino, basilico, violetta e zenzero), seguito da preziose essenze (fiore d'arancio tunisino, fiore di pompelmo marocchino, pepe nero, foglia di tabacco) e la miscela finale di calde note (ambra, cuore di legno di cedro, patchouli, vetiver brumato, muschio di quercia, eucryphia lucida - una resina del Laos - e cipriolo indiano).
