Also for you there are movies that seem designed to relax the nerves? When stress is at the highest level and i don't want to see and to talk to anyone, my anchor of salvation is one of those films, which i define "therapeutic".
The important thing is the cathartic effect that give us, it was probably due to the mechanism of the “return of the already known" that in the viewer creates a sense of certainty, of relaxation, of "home" in short. And this does not mean that it is just easier to see a movie that has already been seen numerous times because every time you find something new, some small detail, some brilliant abutment that perhaps we hadn't caught before.
The film that i would recommend this week is "SLIDING DOORS" (Usa 1997) comedy written and directed by Peter Howitt on his debut.
"...i am a woman. We are not saying what we want, but we reserve the right to tirelessly if not the get. IT IS this that makes us so fascinating, and a little dangerous! ".
This is one of the formidable beats that says the actress Johan Jeanne Tripplehorn (that interprets the character of Lisa) to her clandestine lover and that, let's face it, it is perfectly true! Don't you agree?
The story of this movie is based on the mechanism of the “what if” often used by writers when they write a new screenplay, which consists of making numerous attempts to understand what is the right direction by making the characters so that they can complete on their own "journey of the hero" within the story.
Then…sliding doors. The protagonist of the movie, Helen (interpreted by a brilliant Gwyneth Paltrow) is girlfriend with Jerry, a slacker who hides his ineptitude behind the craft as a writer. One day Helen, who works in a Public Relations agency, is dismissed. At this point the story is divided in two and the character of Helen splits at the exact moment in which the sliding doors of the subway, which must take to return home, it was close. A Helen takes the train in time, while the other remained outside. What different roads will take the two Helen? And what will happen to each of them?
The movie takes its cue from an idea of the Polish director Krzysztof Kieślowski, who had treated the theme of fate in his film of the 1981 “Przypadek”.
The screenplay of “Sliding Doors” is written very well and is full of grotesque english humor, which i love.
If you wish to add this movie in your video library you can buy it on Amazon for the price of $ 6,97 in the DVD version.
If you have already seen "Sliding Doors", or if you decide to see him, don't forget to let us know what you think.
Love, G.
