Swansea City AFC, conferma di colloqui preliminari con nuovi investitori

Il Board dello Swansea City AFCconferma l'esistenza di colloqui preliminari con dei potenziali investitori statunitensi interessanti ad un collaborazione commerciale che potrebbe portare anche a rilevare una quota minoritaria del club gallese della Premier League.
Il presidente del club, Huw Jenkins, confermando che attualmente ci sono solo colloqui ma nessuna offerta concreta, mostra apertura sulla possibile evoluzione della situazione in vista degli investimenti che il club ha in programma di fare nel prossimo futuro, sullo stadio, che partiranno nel 2015(dettagli), e su muovi campi di allenamento, purchè la proposta sia utile sia per il club che per i tifosi.
Il comunicato del club:
“As stated recently, the club is talking to a number of parties who have expressed an interest in possibly investing in the club in some form.
“This includes commercial activities, plus the possibility of assisting with the likes of stadium expansion and training ground developments.
“Part of that investment may eventually include the exchange of a ‘small’ percentage of club shares as an incentive to those interested parties.
“It must be stressed, however, that this is only a possibility and the club has not received any formal offers to date as discussions are only at an early stage.
“The board of directors believes they have proved over the years that the decisions they make are in the club’s and fans’ best interests.
“This philosophy is a priority and any future investment will only be accepted if it is right for the club and fans.
“Swansea City Football Club is in the fortunate position that it does not need to be forced into making any decisions it believes are not right and could be detrimental to the club’s current and future success.”
Nessun riferimento sulle modalità dell'eventuale operazione che potrebbe prevedere una cessione di quote da parte di qualche azionista o un aumento di capitale per favorire l'ingresso dei nuovi investitori, attualmente i tifosi, attraverso lo Swansea Supporters Trustdetengono il 21% e sono il terzo azionista del club dietro al 22,5% di Martin Morgan e Brian Katzen.
