The 55 Biennale di Venezia, 2013

The historic Biennale di Venezia starts for the 55th edition. This historical event is one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the world and its purpose is to promote new artistic trends in the multidisciplinary aspects: the art, the architecture, the dance, the music, the theater.  The international art exhibition are opened from 1 June to 23 November 2013. The title is The encyclopedic palace . there are  more than 150 artists .There is relationship with the U.S. in this event: the curator has been inspired inspired by Marino Auriti  who in 1955 filed a plan of an encyclopedic building (hence the title of the biennial this year). It should have been an imaginary museum that would hosted all human knowledge. What an ambitious project! This monumental building would take place in Washington. The project was never realized but the idea was definitely excellent! The event - in addition to the art exhibitions -  will organize the arts Meeting , a series of the conferences, performances, debates, to make it even more dynamic and engaging the whole. As far as concerning the architecture , the exhibition will take place from June 7 to November 23, 2013 where you can visit 29 pavilions of the different countries.

The project of Palazzo enciclopedico

The cinema exhibition will instead take place from August 28 to September 7, 2013 with the classic red carpet that keep us hanging by a thread and the magnificent films in competition. Lovers of the dance art? From 2 May to 30 June 2013 there will be  the main events. The title is  Living in the world - transmission and practices. The dance is at the center of an intense dialogue. For music we have to wait from 4 to 13 October and will take place the International Festival of Contemporary Music. At last the summer will be hot and full of initiatives for the theatre buffs: from 1 to 13 August there will be the International Theatre Festival, where they will be staged in the best national and international shows. La storica Biennale di Venezia apre ancora le sue porte per la 55esima edizione. Questa manifestazione storica è una delle istituzioni culturali più prestigiose al mondo e il suoi scopo è quello di promuovere le nuove tendenze artistiche sotto aspetti di tipo pluridisciplinare: arte, architettura, danza , musica, teatro. L’esposizione di arte internazionale sarà aperta al pubblico dal 1 giungo al 23 novembre 2013   intitolata Il palazzo enciclopedico con una mostra con oltre 150 artisti. Il rapporto con gli stati Uniti in questa mostra è a doppio filo: il curatore di ispira a Marino Auriti che nel 1955 depositò il progetto di un palazzo enciclopedico ( da qui il titolo della biennale di quest’anno) che era un museo immaginario che avrebbe ospitato tutto il sapere umano. Che ambizioso progetto! Questo palazzo di dimensioni faraoniche avrebbe avuto luogo in Washington. Il progetto non fu mai realizzato ma l’idea era sicuramente eccellente!  La biennale oltre alle esposizioni affiancherà dei Meeting arts che saranno una serie di conferenze, spettacoli, dibattiti per rendere ancora più dinamico e coinvolgente l’insieme. Per quanto riguarda l’architettura l’esposizione sarà dal 7 giungo al 23 novembre 2013 dove potrete visitare 29 padiglioni di differenti paesi. La  mostra cinematografica avrà invece luogo dal 28 agosto al 7 settembre 2013 con i classici red carpet che ci tengono sospesi ad un filo e i magnifici film in concorso. Amanti della danza? Dal 2 maggio al 30 giungo 2013 avverranno le maggiori manifestazioni sintetizzate sotto il titolo di Abitare il mondo - trasmissione e pratiche: la danza viene posta al centro di un dialogo intenso. Per la musica dobbiamo aspettare  dal 4 al 13 ottobre e avrà luogo il Festival Internazionale di Musica Contemporanea. Infine amanti del teatro l’estate sarà calda e ricca di iniziative : dal 1 al 13 agosto ci sarà Festival Internazionale del Teatro, dove saranno messi in scena i migliori spettacoli nazionali ed internazionali.
