In a small town in the Deep South of the United States, the honest lawyer Atticus Finch is charged with the defense motion for a black man accused of rape, he is able to prove the innocence, but the man will also be sentenced to death. The narration is done from the perspective of small and curious Scout, the daughter of Atticus.
A novel that wants to deliver a message against discrimination, a gripping story involving and intriguing to the last page. A clear and simple style, he wants to hit the player and push it to reflect on the fear of difference.
Racism is not 'dead yet, discrimination against everything' which is defined as "different" going on in the world, the hypocrisy of people who want to look at all costs "for good" is always a background in several areas social. But at the end of the novel, the author, through the extraordinary figure of Mr. Finch wants to leave a positive message "Almost everyone is nice, Scout, when you finally get to understand them."

Il razzismo non e' ancora morto, le discriminazioni verso tutto cio' che e 'definito "diverso" continuano in ogni parte del mondo, l'ipocrisia della gente che vuole sembrare a tutti costi "per bene" fa sempre da sfondo in parecchi ambiti sociali. Ma alla fine del romanzo, l'autrice, attraverso la straordinaria figura del Signor Finch vuole lasciare un messaggio positivo "Quasi tutti sono simpatici Scout, quando finalmente si riesce a capirli."
