Dopo la bianca-e-blu Serifos, torno ai climi dell' Europa (e pure abbastanza a nord) e precisamente di Londra. Anche sta volta, dividerò il viaggio in più parti. Partiamo con ordine:
Sono stata a Londra nel weekend dal 20 al 23 ottobre atrovare un amico del mio ragazzo, Giacomo, che è lì per lavorare come grafico. Io ero giàstata a Londra nel 2007 coi i miei e nel 2010 con la mia amica Ilaria che hagli zii londinesi. Entrambe le volte ero stata a Londra in estate. Era quindiper me la prima volta che vedevo la capitale inglese in autunno (diciamo perloro pure inverno). Per Giacomo era la prima volta in assoluto.
Il volo è stato un po’ travagliato: abbiamo cercato di spendere il meno possibile con l'aereo e arrivati a Gatwick, a scopriamo che iltreno per London Victoria costa la bellezza di 20 sterline a cranio (esattamentequei trenta euro di differenza che c’erano con il volo per heathrow!). Quindiconviene valutare anche questo, quando si è a caccia del volo più economico. Ioavevo già volato a Gatwick, nell’estate in cui ero stata da Ilaria, ma i suoizii erano venuti a prenderci in macchina, siccome abitano nel bel quartierinodi Wellington (questo solo per dirvi che, sì, ho viaggiato in un’auto con il volante a destra ..!!! J ).
I was in London over the weekend from October 20 to 23 to see a friend of my boyfriend Giacomo, who is there to work as a graphic designer. I've been already in London in 2007 with my parents and 2010 with my friend Ilaria who has her uncles in London. Both times I was in London during summer. So it was the first time I saw British capital in fall (let's say for them as well winter). For Giacomo was the first time ever. Again, I'll divide the journey into several parts. Let's start with order:
The flight was a little troubled: we tried to spend less money as possible with the plane, but when we got to Gatwick Airposrt, we had a surprise: the train to London Victoria costs even 20 pounds per head (exactly those thirty euros of difference that were on the flight to Heathrow!). So you should consider that too, when you are hunting for the cheapest flight. I had already flown to Gatwick in the summer when I was with Ilaria, but her uncles came to takes us by car, since they live in a beautiful flat in Wellington (just to tell you that, yes, I traveled in a car with the steering wheel on the right. :) ).

L’avventura si è svolta al ritorno: arrivati alla stazionedi Liverpool Street io e Giacomo avevamo finito le sterline (errore madornale!) e senza ragione plausibile nessuno dei tre bancomatche avevamo con noi è stato accettato dalla biglietteria. Ci ritrovavamo cosìsenza un penny per poter arrivare ad Heathrow (il costo è di 10 sterline atesta). Ci siamo messi allora a raccimolare gli euro che avevamo con noi perpoterli cambiare (lì in stazione si poteva). Abbiamo però così perso un saccodi tempo. Ci siamo buttati in metropolitana e sperato nella sua rapidità. Non fosseche tra il terminal 4 e il terminal 1 la metro è stata ferma un’eternità. Sestate bene attenti è segnata questa possibilità sulla tabella di marcia dellametro, ma anche dopo averlo letto non potevamo farci nulla.
…ad aver avuto un iphone o un ipad si sarebbe potutoscaricare l’app di luftansa e effettuare così il check in……..!!!!
Abbiamo così perso il volo. E disperati ci siamo rivolti a casa e il meglio che abbiamo trovato è stato un volo Alitalia da Heathrow a Roma e da Roma a Milano Linate per 198 euro a testa. ...un nervoso…(però i biscotti al limone e soprattutto i grissini al rosmarino che regala Alitalia sono ottimi!)(sarà che non avevamo cenato...)
The adventure took place when we tried to go back home. When we got to Liverpool Street Station, Giacomo and I had finished our pounds (big mistake!) And without plausible reason none of the three ATMs that we had with us was accepted by the ticket office. We were without a penny to be able to arrive at Heathrow (the cost is 10 pounds each). We started then to collect our Euroa we had with us, to change them. So, we have lost a lot of time. In addiction, between Terminal 4 and Terminal 1, the tube was still for a life.
... If we have had an iphone or an iPad we would be able to download the Luftansa app and have our check in directly... ... ..!!!!
So we missed our flight. And we call on our families and the cheapest fight we found was an Alitalia flight from Heathrow to Rome and from Rome to Milan Linate airport for 198 euros each. ...what a nervous ...
(However, the cookies with lemon and the rosemary breadsticks that Alitalia gives us was especially good!)

La verità è che la notte a Heathrow l’avevo già passata (sìsì son recidiva) con i miei nell’estate 2007, siccome la metroera stata chiusa per timore di un attentato che era invece risultato un falsoallarme. Fatto sta che non è nulla di che – sì, si dorme sulle panche, con laluce accesa, lo sporco, il rumore e tutto, ma lo si fa. In più, la notte che avevopassato con i miei era quella seguente l’uscita dell’ultimo Harry Potter (di cui sono una fan), quindi potete capirecome l’ho passata – senza troppi sforzi J.
Stavolta, in assenza di romanzi particolarmente coinvolgenti, mi sonoaffidata al sonno che avevo… In ogni caso i locali aperti servono ‘tap water’gratuitamente (in tutti i locali inglesi è follia ordinare acqua minerale,quella del rubinetto è altrettanto buona e servita gratis normalmente) fino atardi e, nonostante tutto, io son sempre riuscita a dormire qualche ora.
The truth is that I had had already passed the night at Heathrow (yes yes I am recurrence) with my family in the summer of 2007, because the subway was closed for fear of an attack but it was a false alarm.The fact is that it is nothing nothing special- yes, you have to sleep on the benches, with the lights on, the dirt, noise and everything, but you can do it.In addition, in 2007, it was the night next the issue of the last Harry Potter book (I'm a fan), so you can understand how I passed it- without too much effort :).
This time, because of the absence of compelling novels, I had to sleep :) ... In any case the cafes of the Terminal were open 'tap water' for free (in all English restaurants and pubs you can order tap water served for free normally) until late and, despite everything, I am always able to sleep a few hours.

Spero che la nostra esperienza sia stata maestra non solo a noi, ma che vifaccia stare all’erta la prossima volta che prenderete un aereo: largoanticipo, biglietto per l’aereoporto in mano e un’occhiata ai prezzi centrocittà-aereoporto prima di partire. E se avete un i-Oggetto, meglio!! Se riesco ora faccio una tabella con iprezzi dagli aereoporti al centro delle più grandi città europee!!
I hope that our experience could teach not only to us, but that makes you feel alert the next time you take a plane: in advance, ticket to the airport in your hand and have look at the city center-airport prices before to leave. And if you have an i-Item, is better!
I can now make a table with prices from the airport to the center of the largest European cities!
