Una trasformazione, quindi, che renderà le attività dell’etichetta sinergiche tra loro. Valorizzando il suo dna, e “gettando le basi per un approccio integrato alla sua realtà in occasione dell’imminente 40esimo anniversario”, si legge in un comunicato, Mugler dovrebbe diventare “un marchio del lusso globale, con una effettiva coerenza fra moda, accessori e fragranze”.

After Sébastien Peigné’s and Romain Kremer’s departures, respectively, womenswear and menswear head designers, Mugler is going to enter a new phase: the founder and – since 1992 – artistic director of the perfume division, who has not been associated with the fashion side of his eponymous line since 2003, when Mugler couture shuttered, is back at the helm of the brand which bears its name. He will work as creative advisor for Joël Palix, President of Clarins Fragrance Group, owner of the brand, as well as Director General of Thierry Mugler Sas. Like Nicola Formichetti, the 64-year-old designer will also coordinate a team which has not been revealed yet, and which will unify, under the same direction, the creatività of the two souls of the fashion house: fashion and fragrance. In the last three years the latter had a sale increase of 50%.
A transformation which will make the activities of the brand synergistic. Valorizing its DNA and, as we can read in a statement, “setting the stage for a fully integrated Mugler brand vision as the French house nears its 40th anniversary in fashion.” Mugler should become a “global and fully integrated luxury brand with a synergetic approach across fashion, accessories, and fragrances.”
