Thing to come: this weekend I will be at SWAP in Fabriano working with other 18 illustrators, cartoonists and graphics on something we don’t know yet. The whole thing was organized by Giulia, who manages to astonish me every time. There will be also public meetings and an exhibition opening on Sunday, here is the flyer:
Things happened 1: I was featured in this new online magazine called CoolMag, I took a look and the things they post are pretty worthy, so it’s nice to be part of the crowd.
Things happened 2: Last year I did some images for L’Europeo issue about serial killers scheduled for August 2010, but then – despite the summer – things happened in Italy, and that issue turned into “La storia della cricca”, a collection of articles about polical affairs, and the serial killer theme skipped to August 2011. Now the issue is finally out, my illu, which is a portrait of Landru [who is also Charlie Chaplin's Monsier Verdoux, by the way] is the big one on the left. [It's an old drawing that required specific features a bit far from my usual way to work, but L'Europeo is one of the best things offered by Italian publishing, so I'm just proud. But the yellowish filter wasn't my decision! : ) ]

Cose che verranno: Questo weekend – in realà da giovedì – sarò a Fabriano allo SWAP organizzato dall’incredibile Giulietta. Con altri 18 illustra-fumetisti-grafici faremo belle cose fra cui anche una mostra che inaugurerà domenica, quindi se siete in zona passate. Il posterino è lassù!
Cose successe 1: C’è questa nuova rivista online che si chiama CoolMag che mi ha dedicato un post. Al dilà della mia presenza le cose segnalate sono parecchio belle, quindi date un’occhiata.
Cose successe 2: L’anno scorso ho lavorato a delle immagini che dovevano uscire sul numero di Agosto 2010 dell’Europeo dedicato ai serial killer. Poi però sono successe cose in Italia, e quel numero è stato dedicato a “La storia della Cricca”, che si autoesplica direi. Il numero sui serial killer è quindi stato posticipato a questo Agosto, ed è finalmente in edicola. La mia illustrazione è quella grande a pagina piena ed è un ritratto di Landru [che è poi il Monsier Verdoux di Charlie Chaplin]. Il disegno è di un po’ di tempo fa e richiedeva caratteristiche lontane al mio modo abituale di trattare le immagini, ma il fatto di essere su L’Europeo mi inorgoglisce di quel po’ quindi benissimo olè.
