Praticare l’uncinetto è un po’ come andare in bicicletta, non si scorda mai. Ho ripreso a praticarlo e oggi voglio parlarvi di simboli, punti e termini utili.

L’ho imparato insieme al ricamo alla tenera età di 15 anni, frequentando l’oratorio delle Salesiane. Non ricordo bene come, ma si è insinuato tra la pallavolo e la ginnastica ritmica. Forse per il fascino che mi suscitava l’arzilla suor Maria, che con filo e uncino riusciva a fare meraviglie. Possiamo dunque dire con falsa modestia che potrei essere un’ottima moglie, se solo fossi nata negli anni ’50. So cucinare, ricamare e far di conto!

La mia idea di uncinetto era legata a centrini e presine. Poi sul meraviglioso mondo di Pinterest ho scoperto le nuove frontiere. Bastano un uncino e un gomitolo di lana colorata per ricordare tutti i punti, e fare cappelli per tutti, sciarpe, babbucce e coperte.

Voglio inaugurare questa nuova sezione del mio blog con un post introduttivo su punti, terminologia e simboli. Nel mettere in ordine le basi ho voluto farlo anche in inglese, operazione molto utile se si vuole cercare ispirazione sul web. In seguito vi parlerò anche di riviste e siti, che ho trovato interessanti.

Spero che questi semplici schemi possano essere d’aiuto a chi vuole intraprendere questa piacevole attività tornata in auge. Ma anche per chi vuole ripassare i punti principali o iniziare ad esplorare siti stranieri.

Gli strumenti per l’uncinetto [Crochet tools]

L’uncinetto può essere considerato un ottimo esercizio anti stress da praticare ovunque, dato il minimo ingombro. I punti principali sono davvero pochi e molto semplici da eseguire e poi basta avere uno schema a disposizione e il gioco è fatto. Vi confesso che data la mia scarsa pignoleria, ho spesso improvvisato! Vi assicuro che i lavori riescono perfettamente! :D

Procediamo adesso con la terminologia necessaria per interpretare uno schema. Vi ricordo che è utile conoscere il tipo di filato e lo spessore, cosa non di poco conto se si vuole seguire il numero di punti e di giri necessari. Un filato più sottile o più spesso di quello indicato non vi permetterà di tenere il passo con lo schema. Nulla toglie che se avete già esperienza si possa adattare il filato aumentando o diminuendo i punti a seconda delle necessità, come io faccio molto spesso :p

I want to unveil this new section of my blog with an introductory post on points, terminology and symbols. In order to put the basis for start, I wanted to do it also in English, operation very useful if you want to use the web to find patterns and models. Then I will speak also of journals and useful websites.

I hope this schematic will be useful to those who want to undertake this pleasant activity back in vogue. But even for those who want to go over the main points or want to start exploring foreign sites.

The hook can be considered a good exercise to practice anti-stress everywhere. There is only few and easy main points to do and then just take a scheme in hand and you’re done. Although I confess that given my lack of ability to be fussy, I often improvised! I assure you that the work can perfectly! : D

Here now the terminology necessary to interpret diagrams. I remind you that it is also useful to understand the type and thickness of the yarn, which is not trivial if you want to track the number of points and revolutions needed. A yarn thinner or thicker than indicated will not allow you to keep up with the scheme. Nothing remains that if you have experience you can fit the yarn by increasing or decreasing the points as needed, as I do very often : p
