Viral point: Green Lantern e The Milky Way project

Vediamo se ci ho capito qualcosa…
Ricordate Newton & District Astronomers, associazione di esploratori dello spazio amatoriale che avevamo legato al virale di Green Lantern per motivi che sembravano evidenti?

Ecco, le cose pare siano effettivamente legate, solo che il progetto The Milky Way Project esiste veramente, ed  ora provo a spiegarvelo.

The classification work you did on the green rings has made a measurable difference to the scientific effort, and between all the friends of the Newton Astronomers Guild you classified thousands of images.

Lucem in tenebras ferimus

e con allegato il certificato che mi garantisce di far parte del progetto.

Così vado sul sito e faccio qualche ricerca e scopro che The Milky Way Project esiste veramente e permette ai suoi iscritti di utilizzare un telescopio della NASA online per sondare la via lattea alla ricerca di immagini spettacolari.
Se ho capito bene si cercano in particolare degli anelli verdi che paiono essere molto presenti… e da qui parte l’idea di “gemellarsi” con Green Lantern (al punto che esiste anche questo sito brandizzato).

Capito (più o meno) tutto, a questo punto non credo che continuerò a sondare le stelle.
