1.02.2012 snow

There are some moments in my life in which I ask myself why humans are so unable to face unexpected situations. A good example could be today's snow storm.Snow, well, I love it. It stops the sounds, throws everything in a fairy atmosphere, blocks off the time.
Well, the time. Why a simple weather chance can upset all the plans? And why someone can face it and someone not?My vent is clear: tomorrow and friday I should have my last two exams at University, but due to suspension of all the linked services, everything is postponed.The focus point is that University library will be open (and it means that librarians will go to their work place) so why can't Professors do the same?Big question mark.If someone can explain that to me (I'm telling it seriously) I would be very happy.So now I'm in a big anxiety for the lack of time and for the upsetting of my plans. Phew!I'm going to take comfort, as usual, with a cup of hot jasmine tea and a Hitchcock movie and I'll take advantage shooting some picture for the blog and working on my thesis. Dear snow.Beautiful and damned.
Ci sono momenti in cui mi capita davvero di pensare a quanto noi esseri umani siamo abbastanza incapaci a gestirci nelle situazioni impreviste. Per fare un esempio, basta guardare la grande nevicata di oggi.La neve, io l'adoro. Blocca i rumori, proietta tutto in una dimensione fatata, ferma il tempo.Ecco appunto, il tempo. Io mi domando, perché un semplice fenomeno meteorologico sia capace di stravolgere tutti i piani? E perché c'è chi riesce a fronteggiarlo e chi no?Il mio sfogo è ben preciso: domani e venerdì avrei dovuto sostenere i miei ultimi due esami pre-laurea, ma a causa della sospensione del servizio, è tutto rimandato.Il punto cruciale però è che se le biblioteche delle Università restano aperte (e ciò significa che i bibliotecari il modo di andare a lavoro lo trovano) perché invece i Professori non riescono ad arrangiarsi in modo da dirigersi verso l'Università?Grande punto interrogativo.Se qualcuno (lo dico seriamente) ha una spiegazione da darmi, mi renderebbe felice.Resta il fatto che con ciò mi ritrovo in una maxi ansia da tempi stretti e con i piani sconvolti.Uffa.Mi consolerò, come sempre, con un tè al gelsomino e un film di Hitchcock e ne approfitterò per scattare qualche foto per il blog e rimaneggiare la tesi.Cara, neve.Bella e dannata.Picture from Harper's Bazaar US November 2011, by Terry Richardson
