A fabulous dinner in Rome

Last night my friends and I went out for dinner to celebrate an important event. It was my first time at this restaurant called "La Veranda" in Via della Conciliazione, Rome, few steps meters the St. Peter's Basilica and it was really enchanting! The first thing that catched my attention was its extraordinary location, at the first floor of an ancient palace. As soon as I entered the dining hall, I couldn't take my eyes off the high ceilings decorated with beautiful frescoes. It was like entering into a fairytale because of the dense athmosphere full of beauty, harmony and elegance. These really postive impressions were immediately confirmed by the kindness of the personell who welcomed and accompanied us to our table and secondly by the gentleness of the maitre who immediately guessed our tastes and helped us with the choice of the menu. The arrival of each course was a succession of pleasures for the eyes (I couldn't help but capture every of it with my mobile phone, such a pity I didn't bring my camera with me). because of the wonderful presentation and taste of the dishes. I discovered delightful flavors and combinations, many totally unknown to me. We matched to our delicious dinner a Sardinian wine and completed the meal with incredible ice cream which was inside a warm and soft round bread. Yes, I sinned, but I want to go back to this magical place as soon as possible. Maybe next Sunday for the Sunday brunch! Enjoy the pictures :)________________________________________
Ieri sera per festeggiare un avvenimento sono stata con le mie amiche a "La Veranda" un ristorante in Via della Conciliazione, Roma, a dir poco favoloso. Non vi ero mai stata prima e devo dire che questo posto mi ha davvero incantata! La prima cosa che mi ha favorevolmente colpita è stata la sua location, al primo piano di un palazzo nobiliare. Appena sono entrata nella sala non riuscivo a staccare gli occhi dagli altissimi soffitti decorati da meravigliosi affreschi. Mi è sembrato di entrare in un luogo di fiaba per l'atmosfera densa di bellezza, armonia ed eleganza. Queste mie ottime impressioni sono state immediatamente confermate dalla gentilezza con la quale siamo state accolte e accompagnate al tavolo e dall'affabilità e competenza della maître che, intuendo al volo i nostri gusti, ci ha suggerito le nostre scelte. All'arrivo di ogni portata, è stato un succedersi di piaceri per la vista (non ho potuto fare a meno di immortalare tutto col cellulare! purtroppo non ho portato con me la reflex! che errore!) per la magnifica presentazione dei piatti e subito dopo per il palato, scoprendo piacevolissimi sapori e combinazioni, molte a me sconosciute. Abbiamo, sempre su consiglio della maître, accompagnato il cibo con un leggiadro vino sardo, che sebbene, io sia astemia, ho saputo apprezzare. La nota dolce finale alla quale non abbiamo saputo resistere ci ha fatto toccare il cielo con un dito: un trionfo di tiepida e sofficissima brioche ingolosita di creme gelato: Peccherò, ma voglio tornarci subito e voglio anche degustare il brunch domenicale che ho adocchiato nel menu'.
