All I want for Christmas…

Quando ero piccola non scrivevo la Letterina a Babbo Natale. I miei sono sempre stati tipi pratici, e sapevano bene cosa mi piacesse e cosa, invece, detestassi. Tuttavia, anche se sapevo perfettamente che i miei genitori mi avrebbero regalato questo o quel giocattolo (sempre pregando che a qualcuno non fosse venuta in mente l’idea di regalarmi un vestito, cosa che odio tuttora…), fremevo aspettando il momento in cui avrei stretto tra le mani l’oggetto dei miei desideri.
Ancora oggi è così, nonostante siano passati un bel po’ di annetti da quando frequentavo le elementari. E poi diciamocelo: il bello del lato consumistico del Natale non è proprio l’attesa e lo scartare insieme i regali?

Crescendo mi è venuta sempre più in antipatia la consuetudine di dire in anticipo cosa volessi per Natale. Mi piacciono le sorprese, eccome, ma per venire incontro a chi dovrà farmi questo o quel regalo, ho preso l’abitudine di lasciarmi sfuggire qualche informazione nei giorni precedenti il Natale. Non prima, perché altrimenti si corre il rischio che il diretto interessato dimentichi l’informazione. (Sì, sono un essere diabolico…) Da brava ragazza diligente quale io sono ( forse quando dormo) anche quest’anno ho seminato indizi qua e là. Sperando che qualcuno li abbia colti.

- Orly- Meet me under the Mistletoe
-Orly- Halley’s Comet
-Un manuale per i dolci
-Uno stampo per torte in silicone a forma di rosa

When I was a little girl, I did not write the letter to Santa Claus. My parents were always practical kind , and knew what I liked and what, however, detest. However, even though I knew perfectly well that my parents would give me this or that toy (still praying that someone had not come up with the idea to give me a dress, I hate that …), trembled still waiting for the moment which I held between my hands the object of my desires.
Even today it is so, although it took a lot ‘of years when I attended primary school. And let’s face it: the beautiful side of Christmas consumerism is not just the wait and discard all the gifts? Growing up, I got more and more disliked in the habit of saying in advance what I wanted for Christmas. I like surprises, and how, but for those who will meet me this or that gift, I got into the habit of missing out on some information in the days before Christmas. Not before, because otherwise you run the risk that the individual concerned can not remember the information. (Yes, I am a devil …) Like a good girl as I am diligent (perhaps when I sleep) this year I planted clues here and there. Hoping that someone has learned.
