All you need for a brititalian new year's eve.

Despite loving Christmas a lot, it doesn't look like British people enjoy New Year's Eve that much. At least, this is the impression The Girlfriend got when The Boyfriend said "New Year' Eve is bullshit" (pardon her French), while she was jumping around all excited at the idea of toasting the midnight.It's odd, as Italian people celebrate New Year's Eve quite a lot, sometimes even more than Christmas itself. They usually have huge dinners (well, huger than their usual) and they wait for midnight to welcome the New Year with a lot of wine, fireworks and as much noise as humanly possible.Apparently, the main reason why Britons don't love New Year's Eve as much is simply this: on that night pubs charge more than usual for beer and drinks. Fair enough.
The Girlfriend thinks that The New Year can be welcomed pretty well in a cheap way at home though. Let's do it the BRITITALIAN way then! All you need is...

1. SOME PIZZA for dinner.The best meal ever.
2. SOME DESSERT. THE BOYFRIEND MADE LEMON CHEESECAKE, from a very "special" Philadelphia recipe.
3. SOME WINE:ASTI SPUMANTE of course,what else? In case you didn't know yet, The Girlfriend is from Asti. When she found out they sell Asti at Asda's (UK supermarket) she got so emotional that she started to hug the bottle, embarrassing The Boyfriend.
4. A GAME FOR KEEPING EVERYBODY ENTERTAINED, WAITING FOR MIDNIGHT : split into teams, each person secretly writes four people's names (they can be celebrities, fantasy people or even common people that everybody at the party knows) on separate pieces of paper which are then folded and placed together. In the first round a person from each team takes turn to describe to his own team as many names as they can guess until the time runs out (the other team is timing).In the second round, each person does the same but no words are allowed this time: one can only mime and act.The team who guessed the biggest amount of names wins.

Have fun, don't drink too much and most of all...HAVE A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR.Nonostante amino molto il Natale, non sembra che i Britannici apprezzino il Capodanno allo stesso modo. Almeno, questa e' l'impressione che La Girlfriend ha avuto quando Il Boyfriend ha detto : "Capodanno e' una merda" (scusate il fine linguaggio), mentre lei saltellava in giro tutta entusiasta all'idea di brindare la mezzanotte.E' curioso perche' gli Italiani invece festeggiano parecchio il Capodanno, a volte addirittura piu' del Natale stesso. Di solito organizzano sontuose cene (beh, piu' sontuose del loro solito) e aspettano la mezzanotte per dare il benvenuto al nuovo anno con molto vino, fuochi d'artificio e in generale con piu' rumore possibile.Sembra che la ragione principale per cui i Britannici non amano molto il Capodanno sia molto semplice: quella notte i pubs vendono birra ed altri alcolici a prezzi molto piu' cari del solito. Tutto si spiega allora.La Girlfriend pero' pensa che il Capodanno possa essere festeggiato in modo economico anche a casa propria. Facciamolo alla BRITANNILIANA allora!Servono solo...

1. PIZZA per cena. Non esiste piatto migliore.
2. DEL DOLCE. IL BOYFRIEND HA PREPARATO una CHEESECAKE AL LIMONE, dalla "speciale" ricetta Philadelphia .
3. DEL VINO PER BRINDARE: Naturalmente dell'ASTI SPUMANTE, cos'altro senno'? Nel caso ancora non lo sapeste La Girlfriend e' originaria di Asti. Quando ha scoperto che vendono questo spumante da Asda (un supermercato UK) si e' emozionata al punto che ha abbracciato la bottiglia, facendo imbarazzare Il Boyfriend.
4. UN GIOCO PER INTRATTENERE TUTTI ASPETTANDO LA MEZZANOTTE: divisi in squadre, ciascuno scrive in segreto quattro nomi di persone (possono essere celebrita', personaggi di fantasia o anche persone presenti alla festa o conoscenti) su quattro pezzetti di carta che poi vengono piegati e messi tutti insieme. Al primo "round" a turno, una persona per ogni squadra deve cercare di far indovinare piu' nomi possibili ai suoi compagni di squadra, descrivendoli, finche' non scade il tempo (l'altra squadra cronometra). Al secondo "round" si fa lo stesso, ma questa volta non e' permesso parlare: si puo' solo mimare. Vince la squadra che riesce ad indovinare il maggior numero di nomi.
