On the occasion of the AltaRoma fashion, Luigi Barone (young Roman designer), has presented its new collection of Haute Couture SS 2014. Play of light and pastel shades have excelled on the catwalk. The dresses, mainly silk, are embellished with Swarovski crystals and a delicate color palette, creating a new generation of woman-flower, which meets and clashes between past and future.
“I want to express the idea of an original group of women, new and different, standing apart because of their sophisticated yet at the same time wild style. I’ve decided not to specify where they come from or where they’re going: what counts is that they’re moving forward in a space that’s open to change” says the designer.
For Luigi Borbone, these women and the clothes they wear can be defined on the basis of three distinct concepts: equilibrium, transformation and transfer.
- The equilibrium created by the clean lines of the dresses and suits is interrupted by 3D geometrical applications (crochet and pleating) that give the collection a contemporary feel.
- Transformation is when the designer draws on the intellectual heritage of classic couture craft whilst exploring new themes, as in the dresses embroidered with laser techniques or crystals from Swarovski (which sees Luigi Borbone as one of the international designers most capable of developing products from the Swarovski Elements brand) to create new brocades.
- Transfer means the counterpoint between the narrative of handcrafted garment making, typical of Made in Italy, and the more transgressive elements taking shape in the actual content of the dresses featured in the show. Taken together, these three categories compose a new chapter in the history of Luigi Borbone’s fashion creations, under the banner of cross-contamination and experimentation.

In occasione delle sfilate di moda di AltaRoma, Luigi Barone (giovane stilista romano), ha presentato la sua nuova collezione di haute couture SS 2014. Giochi di luce e tonalità pastello hanno primeggiato in passerella. Gli abiti, principalmente in seta, sono impreziositi da cristalli Swarovsky e da una palette cromatica delicata, creando una nuova generazione di donna-fiore, che s’incontra e si scontra tra passato e futuro.
“Voglio esprimere l’idea di un gruppo di donne originale, nuove e diverse che si distinguono per lo stile sofisticato e selvaggio al contempo. Non ho voluto precisare da dove vengono né dove vanno: ciò che conta è che avanzano in uno spazio aperto al cambiamento ” dice lo stilista.
In questa collezione, Luigi Barone, esprime 3 concetti fondamentali: equilibrio, trasformazione e trasporto.
- L’equilibrio delle linee pulite di abiti e tailleur viene spezzato da applicazioni geometriche
tridimensionali lavorate all’uncinetto e lavorazioni a plissè che conferiscono un tocco di
contemporaneità alla collezione.
- Per trasformazione lo stilista riprende l’immaginario dell’artigianato couture canonico osando nuovi
percorsi tematici, ad esempio con gli abiti ricamati con le tecniche al laser o degli elementi in
Swarovski (che ha scelto Luigi Borbone come uno dei designer internazionali che meglio possono
sviluppare il prodotto Swarovski Elements) per creare nuovi broccati.
- Il trasporto è inteso come contrappunto tra la narrazione della confezione artigianale, propria del
made in Italy, con accenni più trasgressivi prendendo forma negli abiti-testo della sfilata.
Insieme, queste tre categorie scrivono un nuovo capitolo della storia dell’alta moda firmata Luigi Borbone sotto l’egida della trasversalità e della sperimentazione
