Amy Winehouse Cover Dress Sold for £43,000

The Disaya dress that Amy Winehouse wore on the cover of her multi-platinum "Back to Black" album sold at auction for £43,200 (around 50.000 €) yesterday at a Kerry Taylor Auction held in London, more than quadrupling its pre-sale estimate.
The polka dot chiffon look was bought by the Fundacion Museo de la Moda - a fashion museum in Chile, with all proceeds going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Designer Disaya, a 2006 Central Saint Martins graduate, donated the dress to the auction house in early November to benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Mitch Winehouse, the late singer’s father, said the funds raised in the auction would be directed to aiding vulnerable youth as soon as possible. "I can't put into words how grateful I am to Kerry and Disaya for their support and hard work," he said. "We are just over the moon and this is a wonderful start to the foundation. L'abito del marchio inglese Disaya che Amy Winhouse indosso' sulla copertina dell'album multi-platino "Back to Black" e' stato venduto ieri all'asta di Kerry Taylor a Londra per ben 43.000 £ ovvero circa 50.000 €, piu' del quadruplo del valore stimato inizialmente. L'abito di chiffon a pois e' stato acquistato dalla Fundacion Museo de la Moda, un museo della moda in Cile, con i proventi di questa vendita devoluti alla Amy Winehouse Foundation. La stilista Disaya, diplomata nel 2006 presso la Central Saint Martins di Londra, ha donato l'abito alla casa d'asta i primi di novembre per aiutare la fondazione dedicata ad Amy Winehouse. Mitch Winehouse, il padre della cantante, ha dichiarato che i fondi raccolti dall'asta saranno devoluti il prima possibile per aiutare ragazzi vulnerabili. "Non posso dire quanto sono riconoscente a Kerry e a Disaya per il loro supporto e duro lavoro." ha detto. "Siamo al settimo cielo e questo e' un bellissimo inizio per la fondazione. Stiamo per andare a visitare una comunita' di senzatetto ad Euston domani e cosi' i soldi andranno direttamente per una giusta causa."
