Body Shapes: Variations on the Theme

Creato il 10 settembre 2012 da Anna3venere @AnnaVenere3
The body shapes are very useful to recognize ourselves and to accept our body, not as an amount of fats and angular areas, something that we see in movies or magazines and, as a consequence, hard to reach for. Our body is unique and calls the shots; it decides where to store the fats and how much they are, what kind of bra we have to buy and how tall we are. We cannot change it upside down. Once we have found the body shape we belong, we can succeed in accepting it more, or even to understand what kind of dresses are suitable for it; obliviously, it depends on generic guidelines that aim at distributing the proportions and, therefore, to harmonize the silhouette, having as reference the standard body shapes that can be more or less define.
Body Shapes: Variations on the Theme
The body shapes are like standards: the image we have of a pear is that of a disproportioned fruit: larger in the lower part than in the upper part. But every pear, even keeping these proportions, is thinner or less thin or more or less stretched out.
There’s the Abate Pear, slightly taller, whose lower part is very curvy and the bust is slimmer. The Kaiser pear has a waistline which is not highlighted and the William Pear whose thorax is curvier. Everyone can be more or less mature, younger or less young and, for this reason, the sizes will be different.

This comparison with fruits (now we get used to call ourselves as pears, so we can try to yield benefits), because I’ve realized that this descriptions of body shapes are not so clear when they are less definite.
The Typical Pear shaped Woman: The typical Pear shaped Woman are 44-48 sized for trousers, less for skirt if they are high waist while, on the contrary, the bust fits more than a small size. Her shoulders are tighter than hips and her bras are 1st or 2nd sized. Obviously, her thighs are very curvy and her waist is slim, a little bit of pot belly under the navel and love handles.
Body Shapes: Variations on the Theme
The Pear Shaped Woman: Variations on the theme The Slim Pear Shaped Woman: is intended to be the woman that is slim from the waistline downward, sized 40-42 for trousers. In this case, even having a pear shaped body, it is not so highlighted. Hips are slightly larger than shoulders and thighs are thinner, even if they are not slimmer. Usually, it happens when a pear speed woman does some form of sport that dries the thighs’ muscles, such as running. In this case, the limitations for trousers and skirts are softer and the same is for colours. It’s important to evidence the waistline.

The sheath dress, in a rigid fabric and arranged by a tailor is permitted, as well as the trousers tight at the bottom, bright coloured. Avoid those with the elastic in the ankle if this is fat. You can dress also the shorter and right skirts, provided that they fit well. The long cardigans must always be buttoned in the middle, never till  the end. The straight overcoats are good, as long as they must not be wide in the bust and not very ample and, therefore, wrapping up the figure.
The Pear Shaped Woman with a wide Breast: this sub-category of women is lucky, since a wide breast can balance the disproportion between hips and shoulders in a better way. She’s considered as a pear shaped woman because the weight is distributed only from the waistline downward and slightly in her arms and back. The changes in the way of dressing are not so much, except that the dress will fit better and she can take some inspiration from the Hourglass Shaped Woman.

Choose the V neck items, instead of the “Sabrina” one, choose top and dresses with sufficient space for breast. It’s not necessary to abandon the double breast, to enlarge the thorax, because it will never create a disproportion with the hips.
The flat-chested Pear Shaped Woman: being very similar to the Thin Hourglass Shaped Woman, she has a pear shaped aspect, because her fats are stored from the waistline downward and, when she gets fat, she become a Pear Shaped Woman with more Breast. She can take lot of inspiration by the Thin Hourglass Shaped Woman.

Body Shapes: Variations on the Theme
She can take the sheath dress and the pencil skirt till the knee from the Hourglass Shaped Woman, making sure they must fit completely. Even the coloured stocks are permitted, as long as her legs are slim; avoid the enlarging fantasies (horizontal lines, lozenges, big flowers) if you are not sure of your legs. The jeans and the bottomed tight trousers are permitted, better if they are not skinny, while the sarouel and the trousers with the elastic in the waistline are forbidden: it’s not necessary to create volume in your legs.
The Pear Shaped Woman with “wide shoulders”: in this case, the wide shoulders are intended to be the shoulders whose width is equal to hips. She must not be confused with the Hourglass Shaped Woman, which is curvy both upward and downward. In this category, the fats are stored only from the waist downward and her breast is not abundant. In this case, the disproportion is not highlighted and, therefore, it’s less important to choose bright coloured t-shirts with decorations in the shoulders and facing, in particular if your hips are over the size 46, in order to catch the attention on the bust.

Choose the canoeist vests, fastened in the neck, to minimize the shoulders. It’s better that the Typical Pear Shaped Woman avoid them. On the contrary, avoid the very abundant and voluminous necks, above all in the overcoats and in the trenches, where the pads enlarge the shoulders further.
The Typical Inverted Triangle Woman: I’ve taken into consideration the Inverted Triangle Woman, sized 40-42 from the waist downward and a 4th breast size; her shoulders are as wide as her breast but her thorax is thin, not wide like the Apple Shaped Woman’s.
Body Shapes: Variations on the Theme
The Inverted Triangle Woman: Variations on the theme The variations for this kind of woman are minimal: she can have an abundant breast, 44 sized from the waist downward and a little bit of pot belly, but the advices are always the same, since the disproportion is unchanged.
The Typical Rectangle Woman The Typical Rectangle Woman is 40 sized; she is thin, but also a little bit angular; her hip’s bones can be visible and also the clavicles. She is nbsp;1st or 2nd breast sized and her bottom is flat.
Body Shapes: Variations on the Theme
The Rectangle Woman: Variations on the theme In this kind of woman, fats are stored without any appearance; therefore, the only variation is when she is a little buxom, not angular. In this case, the very adherent dresses are forbidden, but she can prefer the very feminine and voluminous models.

Body Shapes: Variations on the Theme
The very adherent models of the single coloured one or those with facing are forbidden (but not banned) for the most angular women, in order to mitigate this feature of theirs, above all if the fabric is thin and very elastic and, therefore, puts in evidence everything. If the inverted triangle woman loses her angular aspect, can dress a little bit more: in fact, the lean body and not so much curvy is very versatile in the hugging dresses. The adherent black trousers-leggings are forbidden( they get the legs thinner), even better if they are bright coloured.
The Typical Hourglass Woman The Typical Hourglass Woman is curvy and round; she is 44-48 sized for trousers and a 4th or 5th breast sized. Her waistline is highlighted with curvy thighs and her shoulders are the same size of her hips. Her fats are equally stored all over her body (except in the waist), back and arms included.
Body Shapes: Variations on the Theme
The Hourglass Woman: Variations on the theme The thin Hourglass Woman: she is 40-42 sized, but all the curves are equally istributed, like the pin up model. She has a tight waist, her slightest breast size is the 3rd, a downward bottom and muscular and slim legs. It is the typical case of the Hourglass women that has always made sport, maybe at agonistic level or with a quite fast metabolism, due to a particular hormonal conditions. Such women can follow the advices for the normal Hourglass women but ignoring the limitations. It’s good, but not essential, to put in evidence the waistline. Maybe those kinds of women can become curvier along with the time, reaching for the shape of the Typical Hourglass Woman.

The adherent trousers and the skinny jeans, even coloured, are permitted to the Thin Hourglass Woman, while the Thin Pear Shaped Woman should avoid them. The adherent short skirts are also permitted, but be careful to the tight size that must be slim; it’s better to wear it with pantyhose. She can also wear long, tightly woven sweaters, forbidden to those who are very curvy and coloured pantyhose or the thigh highs. Avoid leggings and the pattern stocks, unless your legs are really slim.
The Hourglass Woman whose Waist is not very slim: the main feature of the hourglass woman is that, even if she gets fat equally all over her body, her waist is highlighted. Differently from the Pear Shaped woman, whose fats are stored only in an specific area of her body, her waistline gets wider when stores lots of fats and can stand also 5 fingers above the navel. The limitations are very few, such as to choose with a high, suitable waistline.

Choose dresses with a soft but highlighting waistline, with a belt, horizontal lines, gathers.
The Typical Apple Shaped Woman When I described the Apple Shaped Women, I’ve divided them into two categories, according to their breast size. I imagined a woman whose size is 44-46 from the waist downwards, with slim legs, a little bit of pot belly, a wide waistline and the shoulders proportioned to it. In the whole, hips and shoulders are joined almost as a unique area. In case of a wide breast, she can have a 4th size while; in case of flat-chested, she wears a 2nd size.
Body Shapes: Variations on the Theme
The Apple Shaped Woman: Variations on the theme The flat- chested, Slim, Apple Shaped Woman: named also as Table Woman, since she is “B- dimensional” , that is slim but wide in the same time. This kind of woman, even lacking the waistline, also lacks curves. She is at least size 42 for trousers (the hips’ bones are wide) and a small or medium size for t-shirts. If you belong to this shape, you can take the inspiration from the Rectangle Shaped Women; in fact, the main feature is to give movement to a non curvy silhouette, by keeping the main features of the Apple Shaped Woman, such as legs. The more adherent item are permitted, as long as the belly is flat; they should not be too sober, in order to mitigate the “B- dimensional” effect.

The Volume must be created with patterns and flares, but not in the sides, since it has to stop the “B- dimensional” aspect of the silhouette. The blouses with flares are permitted, like the cowl neck sweaters, the layers of fabrics and the elastic in the waistline; the silhouette is lean and it’s not heavier by adding the volume to the thorax.
The Slim, Apple Shaped Woman with a Wide Breast: this is condition is similar to the previous one, but with some advantages: the abundant breast, at least a 4th size, tends to disappear in the wide thorax. It’s important to keep on highlighting this part, with Imperial Style dresses and fitting bras. The modifications to do are not so much; the most adherent dresses, even sober, are permitted, since the breast tends to avoid the “B-dimensional” effect.

The wrapping and adherent dresses are permitted, as long as the breast has its own space and the waistline is high, under the breast, in order to minimize the lack of tight waist.
The Apple Shaped Woman with a Little Breast and a wide Belly: the difference between the shape of the Hourglass Shaped Woman or that of the Pear Shaped Woman with the Apple Shaped woman is notable. In the first two cases, the belly is evident: it’s outwards and ruins every outfit that is not for them. The apple Shaped woman’s belly has lot of space to grow, before going outwards. This is the reason why it can be more easily minimized. The dresses chosen for this kind of woman with a little breast will be good anyway, but its’ necessary to choose them in rigid fabrics and abandon the adherent one for the bust. Try to put in evidence your legs, but never exaggerate; avoid the black coloured skinny trousers and all the items that make your legs be thinner.
Some more suggested items:
Body Shapes: Variations on the Theme
Excellent the sacking dresses, in a rigid fabric that minimize the belly. Even the rigid, slightly flared tops are good, even if they are long. Avoid the dark leggings, because they make your legs thinner, just like the skinny jeans.
The Apple Shaped Woman with a Wide Breast and a wide Belly: in this case, the main thing is to carry and locate the breast in a correct way. It’s useless to mix the breast with the belly, like a “Staypuff” tube shaped. The more your breast is sustained, the less your belly will be. In this case, it’s even more important to avoid the models that fall right down from the breast and choose the Imperial Style dresses that fit flawless. Even in this case, avoid all the items that make your legs thinner.

I didn’t keep in mind neither the case of surgical breast increase, nor the different heights: I hope to deal with them in a separate moment. I didn’t use the photos of Pear Shaped Women, Apple Shaped Women or Curvy women except in rare cases, since it’s very difficult to find them on line, but, if someone wanted to suggest a website where lots of silhouette examples, I would be very grateful!
