Borough Market e Love Les Carottes

ITAOggi era una bellissima giornata di sole, e quando è così è davvero un peccato passare la mattina del sabato dormendo - anche se ce n'è bisogno, di tanto in tanto! - quindi ci siamo svegliati a un orario decente e abbiamo fatto un giro al Borough Market, che nel weekend è ancora più colorato, incasinato e irresistibile del solito!Il Borough Market è un vero e proprio mercato al coperto, che vende generi alimentari di tutti i tipi e poi dolci, pies, torte, panini e piatti pronti deliziosi - insomma, una vera delizia sia per il palato che per la vista! Si tiene dal martedì al sabato vicino a London Bridge, ed è aperto dalla mattina sino al tardo pomeriggio. Un'esperienza da non perdere, una vera e propria full-immersion nelle specialità gastronomiche britanniche e di tutto il resto del mondo. Questo coloratissimo banco di verdura che ho visto oggi al mercato mi ha fatto venire in mente una fragranza che avevo scoperto qualche giorno prima da Antropologie, un grande department store in Regent Street. Si chiama Love Les Carottes, è realizzata da Olivia Giacobetti per Honorè de Paris ed è davvero molto particolare: sa di carota! L'idea di creare fragranze usando gli ortaggi mi piace molto, è divertente e innovativa. L'effetto che lasciano sulla pelle, lo stato d'animo che ti trasmettono è davvero diverso: mi ci è voluto un po' per abituarmici, ma poi l'ho adorato. Per ottenere questa fragranza, la Giacobetti ha utilizzato una gran quantità di carote organiche, unite all'aroma di arancio, vaniglia, patchouli e benzoino - tutte materie prime naturali e bio. Fare un profumo nello stesso modo in cui si prepara una torta o un piatto gustoso: davvero una bella scoperta! Un profumo molto originale, che vedrei bene abbinato a un abitino di un colore vivace e caldo (ma non arancione, altrimenti il rischio di essere scambiati per una carota gigante in fuga è alto!) indossato in una mattina di prima estate, per non prendersi troppo sul serio. ENGToday was a lovely sunny day and, with such a weather, it's a pity to spend Saturday morning asleep in your own bed - even if it's needed, every now and then! - so we woke up at a reasonable hour and made a ride to Borough Market, which during the weekend is more colorful, crowdy and irresistible than ever. The Borough Market is a proper indoor market which sell every kind of foodstuffs plus sweets, pies, cakes, panini and delicious takeaways - in short, a delight for both your taste and  sight! It's held from Tuesday to Saturday near London Bridge, and it's open from early morning till late afternoon. An experience that you cannot miss, a proper full-immersion in British and world cuisine. This extremely colorful vegetable stall, which I saw today at the market, reminded me of a perfume which I've smelled a few days before in Antropologie, a great department store set in Regent Street. It's called Love Les Carottes, it's made by Olivia Giacobetti for Honorè de Paris and it's very peculiar: it smells of carrots! I really like the idea of creating fragrances using vegetables, it's funny and brand new. The scent that it leaves on your skin, the state of mind that it gives you is really one of a kind: it took me a while to get use to it, but at the end of the day I totally adored it! To realized this fragrance, Giacobetti smashed a huge number of organic carrots, mixed with the scent of citrus, vanilla, patchouli and benzoin - all bio and natural raw material. Creating a perfume in the same way you do a cake or a tasteful dish: a great discovery!A very original perfume, that I might see well-suited with a bright colorful short dress (maybe not in orange, the risk of being mistaken for a giant running away carrot is high!) worn in a early summer morning, for not taking yourself too seriously.
