Kew Gardens e Flower by Kenzo

Questa settimana è stata semplicemente grandiosa. Da adesso in poi, potete trovare la mia personale rubrica a cadenza settimanale, in cui parlerò di profumi e di vita, sul magazine online Tentazione Makeup (in italiano!) e per questo devo ringraziare infinitamente Laura, la meravigliosa fondatrice e beauty editor del sito, che mi ha scelto...sono completamente felice, direi proprio al settimo cielo!Sono successe tante altre belle cose, alcune nella mia vita privata, altre in quella lavorativa. L'atmosfera confusa e difficile di qualche settimana fa si sta lentamente dissipando, complice anche la primavera che a Londra è arrivata all'improvviso, offrendoci una serie di belle giornate con un sole splendido e la temperatura intorno ai 20°...ne abbiamo subito approfittato per andare di nuovo a visitare i Kew Gardens, uno dei posti più fiabeschi della città. Nati come giardini botanici della Regina, i Kew Gardens sono uno spettacolo della natura, specialmente in primavera. Gli animali presenti, scoiattoli anatre cigni e bellissimi pavoni, sono in piena stagione degli amori e non è difficile vederli passeggiare in coppia come fidanzatini timidi, litigare con gli altri per gelosia, oppure covare il primo uovo sul proprio nido - come questo splendido cigno che ho fotografato. 
Le altre meraviglie dei Kew Gardens sono piante e arbusti da tutto il mondo - conservate nelle serre climatizzate - fiori splendidi e rari e la TopTree Walkway, una camminata pensile all'altezza delle cime degli alberi che, se si riesce a superare il senso di vertigine, è un'esperienza indimenticabile. 



Se esiste un profumo capace di rendere al meglio la sensazione dei primi giorni di primavera, è sicuramente Flower by Kenzo. Grande classico, nel corso degli anni è stato declinato in numerose versioni, edizioni speciali o estive, ma io ritengo che la prima rimanga sempre la migliore. Il proposito della maison era quello di creare l'odore di un fiore che non profumava di nulla in natura: il papavero, simbolo della bella stagione e della perseveranza, per la sua capacità di sbocciare ovunque. Questo è stato possibile grazie a un sapiente insieme di rosa bulgara e biancospino per le note di testa, violetta e gelsomino per quelle di cuore e un supporto di vaniglia e muschio bianco per la base. La rappresentazione perfetta per quello che è il più fragile dei fiori, ma capace di crescere perfino sulle rocce.

From now on, you can find my own weekly column about perfumes and life on the web beauty magazine Tentazione Makeup (in Italian!) and I'm extremely grateful to Laura, the amazing magazine founder and beauty editor who choose me...I'm extremely happy, directly on the cloud nine!Many other nice things happened, both in my work and private life. The cloudy and rocky feeling which has been my mate in the past few weeks is slowly fading away, thank also to the Spring which blossomed suddenly in London, giving us several sunny, warm and beautiful days. We immediately take advantage of that, planning a trip to Kew Gardens, one of the most fairy places of the city. Created as Queen's botanic gardens, Kew Gardens are a wondrous of nature, especially  during springtime. The animals who live there, squirrels ducks swans and gorgeous peacocks, are all in the deep of their love-season, and it's not uncommon to see them walking in couple as shy sweethearts, fghting with others because of jealousy, or brooding their first egg on their nest - like this beautiful swan who I have pictured. Other wonders belonging to Kew Gardens are plants and trees from all over the world - preserved in the conditioned greenhouses - amazing and rare flowers and the Toptree Walkway, a hanging walk literally on the top of the trees - if you're able to overcome your sense of dizziness, you cannot miss this!If there is a perfume which is able to perform the taste of early springdays, it's surely Flower by Kenzo. A great classic, during the years it was declined in several versions - special and summer editions - but I personally think that the first one is still the best one. The wish of the maison was to recreate the scent of a flower which, in the nature, smells of nothing: the poppy, symbol of the early summer and perseverance, for its capability to blossom everywhere. This has been possible thank to a well-made mixture of Bulgarian rose and whitethorn for top notes, violet and jasmine for the heart notes and a built base made with vanilla and white musk. The ideal representation for the most fragile of flowers, but at the same time able to grow even on the rocks.
