Brighton Fashion Week 2012 - Overview

No deck chairs, never mind the pier, pebbles be damned! … Embrace the sublime, the surreal, and the subversive...
This is how the BFW 2012 press release opens and I can't honestly wait to see the whole thing: the venues, the designers, the shows and the audience. If you don't live in Brighton or never been here you may have no idea, first of all, what Brighton represents for the 'average' person. It's still the off-beat, creative, uncoventional, arty, fun place that it has always been looked at particulraly since the Prince Regent era - that is 1811 -, it's mentioned in English novels (in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudiceand William Makepeace Thackeray Vanity Fair) as a place of 'profligacy and impulsive actions' ) and became a day-trip resort - and it still is - after the London railway line was built in 1841. But let's go back to fashion...     Niente sdraio, lasciate perdere il pontile, ciottoli siate dannati! ...Andate incontro al sublime, il surreale e cio' che e' sovversivo...   Questa e' l'apertura del comunicato stampa della BFW 2012 e non sto nella pelle nel vedere ogni aspetto di questo evento: le location, gli stilisti, le sfilate e il pubblico. Se non vivete a Brighton o non ci siete mai stati non potete avere idea, prima di tutto, di cio' che brighton rappresenta per 'una opersona media'. E' ancora quel luogo con tendenze tutte sue, creativo, anticonvenzionale, artistico e di divertimento a cui si e' sempre guardato particolarmente a partire dall'epoca della Reggenza - cioe' dal 1811 - e' menzionato in romanzi inglesi ( 'Orgoglio e Pregiudizio' di Jane Austen e 'La Fiera della Vanita' ' di William Makepeace Thackeray) come 'luogo di perdizione e azioni implusive' e divenne una meta balneare per gite di un giorno - e ancora lo e' - dopo la costruzione della linea ferroviaria che la colleagava a londra nel 1841. ma torniamo alla moda...  
  The BFW 2012 runs from May the 30th to June the 3rd and the collective shows are divided into 'categories'. I'll be attending every event and reporting about it for Fashion News Magazine and will post on this blog more personal and unedited content that won't find space on the magazine. The following are the locations and main events  of BFW 2012. Brighton Frocks Catwalk Show  - Wednesday, 30th May - All Saints Church, Hove. The traditional delineation of fashion will come into question with this off-the-wall journey through the unconventional collections of alternative and costume designers.
La BFW 2012 va la 30 maggio al 3 giugno e le sfilate collettive sono suddivise in 'categorie'. Io partecipero' ad ongi evento in veste di inviato per Fashion News Magazine e su questo blog postero' notizie piu' personali e conenuti inediti che , per questioni di spazio, non avro' potuto postare per il magazine. A seguire le location e gli eventi pricipali della BFW 2012. Brighton Frocks Catwalk Show  - Mercoledi' 30 maggio - Chiesa All Saints , Hove. La nozione tradizionale di moda verra' messa in questione attraverso una serie di collezioni di designer alternativi e di costume.

The Zeitgeist Catwalk Show  -Thursday 31st May  - All Saints Church, Hove. Featuring a selection of innovative and contemporary designs that infuse stylish sophistication, elegant lines, immaculate tailoring and luxurious fabrics with pioneering style aesthetics. The show will be packed with an exciting array of cutting edge designers.
The Zeitgeist Catwalk Show - Giovedi' 31 maggio - Chiesa All saints, Hove. Una selezione di collezioni innovative e contemporanee che mescolano sofisticatezza, linee eleganti, sartorialita' con un'estetica d'avanguardia. La sfilata presentera' tantissimi stilisti di nuova generazione.

The Ready to Wear Show - Saturday 2nd June & Sunday 3rd June - Brighton Corn Exchange.
Hosted by Joey Bevan of Britain’s Next Top Model, the Ready to Wear Show will continue to feature men’s and women’s boutique, high street, and vintage clothing and accessories produced by established, independent, and new designers and stockists.

Presentato da Joey Bevan di Britain's Next top Model, il Ready to Wear Show continua ad esibire collezioni uomo e donna di boutique e negozi vintage e high street oltre che accessori di designer e stokisti conosciuti enon ed indipendenti.
