(British) Vogue disappointment :-(((

I don't usually like complaining  but enough is enough! It's been quite a long time now that I've been constantly disappointed, with just few exceptions, by the quality of British Vogue and it happened again this time when I bought the May issue, intrigued by the Kate Moss cover and above all by the Miss Vogue  mag. with Cara Delevigne on the cover. But yet again, both the photoshoots and the editorial pieces fell flat! The quality and the production is high level, obviously but there's an appalling lack of creativity on all areas. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Di solito non mi piace lamentarmi ma quando e' troppo e' troppo. E' da un bel po' di tempo che, in maniera continuativa, con rarissime eccezioni, che vengo deluso dalla qualita' di British Vogue ed e' successo di nuovo con il numero di maggio che ho acquistato, intrigato da Kate Moss in copertina e Cara Delevigne in Miss Vogue. Ma di nuovo, sia gli editoriali che gli articoli mi hanno fatto cadere le braccia! La qualita' del tutto e' alta, ovviamente ma c'e' una paurosa mancanza di creativita' in tutti i 'reparti'.
 
Uninspiring fashion shoots and articles that don't really add anything to what we already know about the fashion scene....and honestly you do expect Vogue to go the extra mile in every issue. The same is not true for Italian Vogue, to which I had been subscribed when i was in Italy and always delivered excellent and fashion forward content and fashion stories. That's the main complaint I have to make. The British Vogue doesn't really do fashion stories, all you get is a sequence of pictures, styled following a theme but not interesting enough because they don't tell any story :-( -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fashion shoot gia' visiti e rivisti ed articoli che non aggiungono nulla a cio' che gia' si sa del mondo fashion...e onestamente ci si aspetta che Vogue sia un passo avanti a tutti in ongi numero. Lo stesso non vale per Vogue Italia, al quale sono stato abbonato quando vivevo a Roma e che ha sempre creato contenuti e fashion stories interessanti. Questo e' il problema. British Vogue non produce fashion stories, cio' che fa e' una seriei di scatti, con styling a tema ma non interessanti abbastanza perche' non raccontano nulla :-(

Do we need another article about how wonderful and fashion forward Selfridges is? Full of old info about the well know history of it and its creative events? Not really.
Abbiamo bisogno dell'ennesimo articolo su quanto Selfridges sia fashion forward e innovativo? Non proprio.

A generic article about 'what makes a model'? Really?
Un articolo generico su 'cosa rende una modella degna di tale nome'? Ma scherziamo!


Rant finished and from now I think I'll resubscribe to Italian Vogue and just browse the British one at the newsagent but won't buy anymore until it gets better. There!
Lamentela finita e da oggi in poi mi riabbonero' a Vogue Italia e quello British lo sfogliero' in edicola ma senza compralo finche' non migliora. TIE'!
