L'hanno trovato. E l'hanno riconosciuto. Lui già riposava, sotto il mare, da quella maledetta notte del 13 gennaio. Solo che noi non lo sapevamo, che lui era lì.
Giuseppe Girolamo è stato identificato i giorni scorsi, assieme ad altri 6 corpi dispersi nella pancia della Costa Concordia. Con Giuseppe, hanno perso tremendamente la vita anche una bambina di 5 anni e altre 4 persone. Erano mogli, sorelle, padri, amici. E anche Giuseppe era un amico.
É una notizia confortante, nella tragedia che ha travolto la sua famiglia e le persone che gli volevano bene. Finalmente, dopo 4 mesi, la mamma di Giuseppe ha trovato un posto dove piangere il suo figlio sfortunato, che ha dato la vita per salvare un bambino.
Questo post lo scrivo con lo stomaco, senza parole, perché è difficile salutare per sempre un amico. E parole non ce ne sono mai abbastanza.
Alessandro, un nostro amico in comune, ha scritto su Facebook: " Penso che meriti almeno di riposare nella sua terra, accanto ai suoi familiari, nella pace più assoluta. [...] Porterò per sempre il suo ricordo, spero che possiate farlo anche voi. "
Il nostro maestro di chitarra, Gianluca Verrengia, lo ricorda così: " Nella più profonda tristezza ed amarezza, almeno un pizzico di luce c'è, in questa storia. Spesso mi tornano in mente dei lampi dei nostri incontri didattici con Giuseppe: ogni volta che riascolto dei brani dei Laboratori di Musica d'insieme il pensiero va a lui e a tutta quella bella energia che insieme a tutti voi si creava. [...] Lasciamo che Giuseppe ci venga a trovare ogni giorno nei nostri piccoli gesti quotidiani... Sono sicuro che lui sa quando lo pensiamo! "
Mi affido alle parole di Alessandro e Gianluca, per salutare Giuseppe.
E dovunque Giuseppe sia, qualunque viaggio stia compiendo adesso, spero che abbia sentito anche il saluto dei suoi idoli. I nostri idoli.

They finally found him. And they identified him. He was already resting, under the sea, from that damned night of Jan 13. He was there, We just didn't know it, we were still hoping. Giuseppe Girolamo has been identified few days ago, along with other 6 bodies missed in the belly of the Costa Concordia cruise. A 5-years-old girl and other 4 people lost their lives with Giuseppe. They were wives, sisters, fathers, friends. And Giuseppe was a good friend too.
It is kind a comforting news, among the tragedy that has literally swallowed up his family and people who loved him. Finally, after 4 months, Giuseppe's mother has found a place where mourn for his unfortunate son, who gave his life to save a kid.
I'm writing this post with the stomach - as we usually say in Italy - without any words, because it is always hard saying goodbye to a friend.
Alessandro, one of our mutual friend, wrote on Facebook : " I think he deserves to rest at least in his own land, next to his family, in absolute peace. [...] I will cherish his memory forever, I hope everybody can do you too. "
Our guitar teacher, Gianluca Verrengia, remembers him thus: " Among the deepest sorrow and bitterness, there is at least a bit of light. I often flash about our instrumental lessons with Giuseppe: every time I listen to the tracks recorded during our Ensemble Music Lessons, my thoughts go to him and all that good energy that he used to create with you all. [...] Let Giuseppe call on us every day in our small daily actions... I'm sure he knows when we are thinking of him! "
I commend myself to Alessandro and Gianluca's words to farewell Giuseppe.
Wherever Giuseppe is now, whatever kind of journey is doing right now, I hope he has heard the greetings of his idols. Our idols.
