Questi giorni sono pieni di eventi e feste e spesso il problema principale è sempre lo stesso: cosa indossare? Un look in bianco e nero è sempre una buona scelta, ma a volte si è proprio obbligati ad attenersi a questo dress code: è il caso dei cosiddetti eventi Black Tie.
Questo codice di abbigliamento però generare spesso confusione, la prima volta che mi è capitato di dover partecipare ad un'evento del genere non sapevo proprio cosa aspettarmi: è obbligatorio il bianco e nero rigoroso anche per le donne? E' possibile indossare accessori colorati? Vediamo di chiarire qualche dubbio.
Prima di tutto bisogna capire bene cosa significa Black Tie. E determinare il livello di eleganza che l'evento richiede.
- Ci sono diversi generi di evento "Black Tie", e spesso il riferimento è contenuto direttamente nell'invito. Il primo è "gradita la cravatta nera". Ciò significa che un vestito con cravatta nera dovrebbe essere la prima scelta per l'uomo ed un'abito nero elegante per la donna, ma sarà comunque consentito un abbigliamento meno formale purchè comunque elegante, come ad esempio un'abito da cocktail. Certo, se deciderete di non indossare un look da cravatta nera, aspettatevi che la maggior parte degli invitati seguirà il dress code, quindi probabilmente attirerete l'attenzione.
- L'etichetta "Cravatta nera a scelta" dà giusto un' indizio sul modo in cui si può vestire. In sostanza non è un'evento casual, ma nemmeno troppo elegante: insomma è il caso indossare un bel vestito elegante ma senza strafare. Ad un evento "cravatta nera opzionale", la gente sarà probabilmente divisa a metà tra quelli con uno stile molto rigoroso e formale e quelli più modaioli.Se poi ancora non sapete decidere cosa indossare e conoscete altre persone che verranno l'evento, chiedete loro cosa indosseranno. Questo può darvi davvero l'illuminazione, soprattutto se potete chiedere direttamente all'organizzatore della manifestazione. ;)
- Infine l'etichetta un po 'meno utilizzata è "Cravatta nera libera" Si tratta di un'evento meno formale, ma comunque piuttosto elegante. Ciò significa che potreste indossare anche una cravatta rossa, per esempio, ma il mood del vostro look dovrà rimanere abbastanza sofisticato . Le donne potranno sbizzarrirsi nella scelta del colore dell' abito e degli accessori, ma senza esagerare con le stravaganze, meglio evitare di indossare una tiara!

L'ideale in questo caso sarebbe lo smoking, completo di gilet e papillon nero. Ma non è raro vedere persone indossare uno smoking blu notte.

L'abbigliamento da donna per un evento Black Tie
Questo è il genere di evento in cui potete indossare gli abiti lunghi al pavimento, certo sono più eleganti degli abiti corti, ma meno usati. Di solito la più comune è una lunghezza a tre quarti, che funziona molto bene soprattutto con gli abiti neri.
Scegliete un colore ricco ed elegante per il vostro vestito. Nero o bianco, comunque funzionano sempre.
Mettete via la borsa giorno e optate per una clutch in raso, o decorata con perline.
Questo genere di eventi richiedono anche accessori adeguati: in questo caso più scintillano meglio è, ma evitate di appesantire troppo il look con gioielli esagerati ed evidentemente falsi.Completate il look con scarpe da sera di raso, decorate con strass o perline o lucido e assolutamente con tacco altissimo!

At a black tie optional event, the crowd will most likely be split in half between black tie and a very formal style of dress. If you still can’t decide what to wear and you know other people who are attending the event, ask them what they will be wearing. This may give you a leg up on what exactly to wear, especially if you can ask the host of the event.
- The final label for a black tie event that is a little less used is "Black Tie Creative." This is about the least formal, but nevertheless, still formal. Black tie creative means you can switch out your white tux shirt for a black shirt or you can wear a red tie to add flavor to your outfit. For the ladies, you can be a little bit flashier in your choice of gown colors, and it isn’t unheard of to even go as far as to wear a tiara.
Wear a full tuxedo including a tux dinner jacket, a tux shirt with a wing collar, trousers, cummerbund or vest and a black bow tie to dress for a black tie event. Consider wearing a blue tux. Although the invitation says black, you can still pull off wearing a midnight blue tux to a black tie event.

Select a gown to wear. Floor length gowns are more elegant than short dresses. If you have a three-quarters length, very nice black dress, that will work too.
You should choose a rich, elegant color for your dress. Black or white always works.
Put your regular day purse aside and opt for a satin, or beaded, smaller clutch or purse for a black tie event.
Pull out your best jewelryfor the event. The more sparkle, the better, this is a time for you to shine.
