Ormai è abbastanza chiaro, questa è l'estate degli scacchi. Le collezioni primavera-estate 2013 erano tutto un mosaico di quadrati, maxi o mini, black and white o coloratissimi, optical o dai contorni sfumati, magari ingentiliti dall'accostamento con altre fantasie: così gli stilisti hanno dimostrato un'improvvisa passione che sembra arrivare direttamente dagli anni Sessanta.
La dichiarazione d'amore più evidente è arrivata dalla collezione PE 2013 di Luis Vuitton disegnata da Marc Jacobs, con le modelle che dalle scale mobili scivolavano vestite da capo a piedi con quadri in diverse dimensioni e colori, dal giallo sole al classico nero, passando per il verde e il marrone. Outfit eleganti e divertenti, moderni e audaci che sono stati immediatamente amati dalle star come dalle persone comuni.
Nelle collezioni che portano il suo nome presentate a New York invece, Marc Jacobsi ngentilisce le geometrie con le paillettes, o rende bohemien gli outfit attraverso la sovrapposizione di quadri di misure e colori diversi e sfumando le linee.
Ma anche Vivienne Westwood, con la sua donna preppy che abbina il twin set a scacchi su una gonna rsso fuoco, Marras, che punta alla morbidezza di linee e tinte con un delicato mix rosa-bianco ed applicazioni di paillettes, Chanel, che gioca con i tessuti e i colori, hanno reso omaggio alla fantasia a scacchi ciascuno a modo suo.
Per molti rimane comunque un must il binomio quadrato col bianco e nero. Così Michael Kors li mette micro su un total look bianco e nero, Sportmax disegna le linee in bianco su fondo nero su un abito, Unique London ha portato in passerella linee irregolari e pennellate che formano pattern quadrati e romboidali ed Oscar De La Renta unisce al bianco e nero l'energia del giallo, e rinforza lo scacco con le righe.Insomma che siano scacchi, quadretti Vichy oppure stampa plaid, questa estate sarà impossibile fare a meno di un capo a quadrati!
