Concludevo l’ultimo post invitando a immaginare fotografie. Oggi mostro fotografie che aprono l’immaginazione.
Ho sempre amato il buio nelle immagini, piaceva anche a Brassaï: è una specie di apnea in cui puoi esplorare al di sotto della superficie, tenendo come riferimento quella piccola porzione di spazio visibile.

I concluded the last post inviting you to imagine photographs. Today I show photographs that open the imagination.
I’ve always loved the dark in the images, Brassaï too liked: it is a kind of apnea where you can explore below the surface, taking as a reference the small portion of the visible space.

Sono rimasta “incollata” alle foto di Diana Markosian (reporter birmana) per la sua capacità di inserire, di gestire, il buio come elemento significativo, “parlante”, nella composizione, senza farsene prevaricare. Questo succede sia che si tratti di un reportage sulla tragedia di Chernobyl, di una serie di ritratti a suo padre oppure di immagini di una scuola per bambini ciechi.
Onore al merito di questa fotografa che ha scelto la sobrietà al posto dei fronzoli, la sensibilità al posto degli effetti speciali, il silenzio al baccano che confonde.

I was “glued” to the photos of Diana Markosian (Burmese reporter) for its ability to enter, to manage, the darkness as a significant, “speaking” element in the composition, without letting prevaricate by that. This happens both it’s a report about the Chernobyl tragedy, of a series of portraits of his father or the image of a school for blind children.
Hats off to the photographer who has chosen sobriety instead of the frills, sensitivity instead of special effects, silence instead of the din that confuses.
