Ricordate i dubbi sul fatto che fossimo o meno in presenza di una Dot-com bubble 2.0 riguardante i social network? Ebbene, Tom Foremski ha intervistato Bill Davidow chiedendogli un suo parere sull'argomento. Questa e' stata la sua risposta:
"When I look at companies such as Facebook, Zynga etc, I see high valuations but at least these companies have business models with proven revenues. Whether they can keep up their growth rate is another question. But these are not the same type of companies that we had in the dotcom boom where investments were made in companies that had no revenues. It feels very different to 2000."
Bill Davidow e' un profondo conoscitore della Silicon Valley ed e' un veterano del venture capital ( VC), dunque qualche credito alle sue parole potremmo pure darglielo.
Eppure viene da chiedersi se queste sue " rassicuranti" parole non nascondano in realta' una sua strategia a lungo termine. Del resto in caso di " bolle" chi si muove prima guadagna, e forse lui non vuole che siano in troppi a muoversi presto.
